A cold start to the morning. Hiking with BostonTerrierMama and some friends all the way to the top of the mountain. Now we are both home trying to warm up. BostonTerrierMama is making lunch before she goes to the gym - I’m too pooped to even beg (for food).
Just wanted to brag a little bit about BostonTerrierMama and BostonTerrierDad. Thanks to BostonTerrierDads competitive nature and that 13km walk, BostonTerrierMama took first place in her step challenge against her brother and sister-in-law. I'm so proud of her hard work, and glad I could be a part of it. I guess our walk was worth it! (I also need to mention BostonTerrierDad got 2nd and am also very proud of him!)
So then Wednesday happened... What I didn't tell you was that on Monday, BostonTerrierMama challenged BostonTerrierDad as well as her brother and her sister-in-law to the step challenge. The step challenge was how many steps that they could do Monday through Friday. They all wear these funny things on their wrists that look a little bit like collars, except instead of identifying who you are who to call when you escape from the yard - it tracks your steps. BostonTerrierDad is really competitive and BostonTerrierMama doesn't necessarily like to lose so they decided to go on this adventure. It wasn't the best whether, it was a little wet, but what the heck right?! We ended up walking longer than I had ever walked before we walked and walked and walked and walked until honestly I couldn't walk anymore. I was cold and I was tired but thankfully BostonTerrierMama took off her vest, wrapped it around me and actually carried me the last LITTLE bit of the way home. No it's not because I'm a whim and I can't do my fair share walking - but we ended up walking 13 kilometres, and for somebody as little as me that is an extremely long way.
As if the hike wasn't enough last week. That same day once BostonTerrierDad got home, we went on a family walk. I love walking with my family. The sights, the sounds, the smells... OH THE SMELLS!!! Keeps this pooch's nose going! Good thing I got that nap in!
It's been a busy and very adventurous week. And where there is a lot of adventure you'll find me at the end... Tired. BostonTerrierMama took me with her on a hike with a few of her co-workers. Last year we hiked twice a week, every week with them and BostonTerrierDad, so I'm glad we have started up again. I'm also excited that I got to see my 4 legged friend, Duke, again! Hiking started in the morning, and as nice as our winter has been, it was colder than expected. BostonTerrierMama wrapped me up in my blanket in the car to stay warm. (Hey I don't have a lot of hair I get cold easy, what can I say) It was beautiful scenery, not over-crowed with people-- AND I met a very friendly yellow lab with his pawrent out mountain biking. We rested at the top. BostonTerrierMama chatted as I checked out the smells and sounds, and then continued the hike back to the car. Thankfully the sun had come out for our hike, which mean it was still out when I got home and I could soak in all the rays streaming in from the patio door.
This is me. (See picture above) As I'm sure I mentioned before, this is a blog about my daily life and the adventures that I am involved in) But before we jump into an adventure, let me start by telling you a little bit of background and a few things about myself. I was born on September 22nd, 2010 in beautiful British Columbia. One evening when I was only 3 months old, I went to my forever home. I remember that night like it was yesterday. D & B walked into where I was staying, I stayed back as my brothers ran for their attention - but they saw me, picked me up, both held me and before I knew it I was in D's jacket and driving away. For the first while I lived just with B, and D visited almost everyday. But it was September 1, 2011 B packed up our belongings and we moved. To my surprise D was there too, and the 3 of us lived together ever since. Another huge milestone that was important to me was exactly 1 year later when B & D got married (September 1, 2012). It was around that time, they decided I needed a full name- "Sarge Willis Swinden" There have been many adventures and stories since. Unfortunately I didn't have this idea until now, so if you want a stroll through memory lane you'll need to ask B or D. A few additions to mention. D is my Boston Terrier Mama. B is my Boston Terrier Dad. & together they are my Pawrents. I love them, they love me and 99% of my adventures happen with at least one of them... so... I hope you love them too, cause you'll be reading a lot about them. ❤️🐾
