âIt might not seem possible for a nation to heal from genocide so quickly. Â And some might think that our reconciliation is surface level. Â But it runs deeper than that. Â If we were truly a nation playing âmake believe,â our progress would have been impossible. Â Rwandaâs per capita GDP has grown nearly 500% since the genocide. Â And I understand that economics might seem like a dry subject, but you must consider what it represents. Â It represents Rwandans working together. Â And trading together. Â And trusting each other. Â It represents a consensus that our best future is a shared one. Â Without true reconciliation, weâd have never come this far. Â Do tribes still exist in Rwanda? Â Of course. Â There will always be divisions between us. Â I canât ask people to forget about these things. Â But I tell them: âConsider the ways that we are a single tribe. Â We all speak one language. Â We all have the same culture, and dances, and behaviors. Â So be proud of who you are. Â But also be proud of being Rwandan. Â Because that is something all of us are.â (Kigali, Rwanda)

This guy Paul Kagame is responsible for the deaths of millions of Congolese people (1996-1997, 1998-2003 and present day) Kagame/Rwanda has instigated many conflicts in the DRC, this has lead to state sponsored of rape of Congolese women and girls (earning the DRC the title âthe worst place to be a womanâ). Rwanda uses the Democratic Forces for the Liberation of Rwanda and other rebel groups/militias in the region to plunder the DRC. People have called Rwanda a model for Africa, Africaâs future, and Africaâs rising star because of how far theyâve come after the Tutsi genocide, ignoring the fact that Rwandaâs âriseâ was possible because they ravaged the DRC and continue to do so with the help of militias and warlords. Rwanda even manipulated Congolese Tutsis (who like to be called Banyamulenge, distinguishing themselves from Rwandese Tutsis) into fighting for them during the Second Congo War. The Banyamulenge were already a marginalised group in the DRC, Rwanda knew that and used them, they pushed the popular narrative that the Banyamulenge were not ârealâ Congolese because they were Tutsi and belonged in Rwanda. When the Rwandese Patriotic Front (founded by and still lead by Kagame) armed the Banyamulenge, they knew that Congolese militias would respond and that had a devastating effect on the Banyamulenge and of course Rwanda abandoned them.
