@sasasblr
writers really will spend twenty minutes pacing around the kitchen thinking āthis scene is geniusā and then sit down to type and suddenly remember approximately three words and one emotional vibe
DERRY GIRLSĀ 1.06
i think more final girls should be forty and kind of weird and off-putting

I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!
(save the images to zoom in on the pics)
I needed this
I used scree, assuming other people would know what it is, and had to add context clues to make it clearer because apparently no, itās just me. (Keep in mind that I have one of those levels of vocabulary where I donāt know when Iām using an uncommon word because I grew up reading obscure stuff.) So if you use a word you didnāt already know, you should probably make sure that other people can get the meaning from the context. Because if you didnāt already know it, other people probably wonāt either. This doesnāt mean you shouldnāt use words like this, just that they may require a bit of scaffolding with descriptive language.
So āOnce he realizes his husband and their donkey are tumbling down the scree, he flies without thought, down, trying to catch them.ā became āOnce he realizes his husband and their donkey are tumbling down the steep, rocky scree of the hillside, he flies without thought, down, trying to catch them.ā
Because two of my beta readers didnāt recognize the word by itself. Scree is bad footing, loose stone and/or gravel on a steep slope, very treacherous. You wouldnāt want to climb up it, let alone slide or tumble down.
everyone be quiet. marsha with her snoopy.
i will never get over how steve just saw danny, went 'i want THAT ONE' and made it happen immediately.
mcdanno arranged marriage except steve arranged for the marriage himself.

Don't worry the audience extrapolated it back out. You zip the file and communicate it, they unzip it.
This is the best explanation of the reader's contribution to art I've ever heard.
so fucking humbling to be like āno I like that character a normal amountā and then you can literally feel your heart rate spike at a mention of them like a dog that just heard the word ātreatā

alright I've got to do some quick math to explain attitudes towards AI to my boss.
we're looking to create an AI policy, and when we were talking about this, my boss (older millennial) was genuinely shocked to hear that younger people do not (seem) to view AI positively (a la the recent commencement speakers being booed)
