At least I can say I’m working on mine, can you? We all know why those guys scare me. I have every right to be scared of them after the treatment they’ve put us through. But right, that’s all forgotten. I mean, I might as well just sleep with one of them and move on from it, right? Which one do you think is a real closet case? Maybe Mateo himself? 

Oh wow, don’t you sound tough, Lucas Evans. You really oughta try out this new attitude with the people that actually treated you badly. Go pick on them, since you have an actual reason to do so. Even if you slept with all of them, I wouldn’t care. You’re just being hateful and ridiculous for no good reason, and I have nothing else to add to this pointless conversation.

...Whatever, Lucas. If you really wanna bring it to that level, then sure, let’s go there. At least I don’t have to hide behind anyone, nor am I a sobbing mess whenever something slightly bad happens to me. But it’s good to know that you at least have the nerve to talk to a girl like that, since you basically piss your pants whenever Dante or the rest of those guys just walk past you in the hallways. Very brave of you.

There’s nothing I need to get off my chest. Nor am I jealous of you, what is there to even be jealous of? I just don’t want you to think you’re gonna waltz in there and steal the light from my dad or mom. So I was making it clear from the get go, this performance isn’t about you. It’s not even about the glee club. It’s about my parents and my family. 

Plenty, it’s not my fault you were born without an ounce of charisma or talent, and are destined to sway in the background forever. Anyways, I’m not in the mood to argue, nor do I have the time for it. So, either lay off the haterade or find yourself another victim. I have performances I need to prepare for.

You weren’t booked months in advanced because you were a last minute option in the face of an emergency. There is no requests. The song list is being made up for the event. You know, considering it’s not the Sasha show that you usually put on in our school, using us as your back-up puppets of course. Don’t plan on getting all of the limelight either. I’m weighting the songs so everyone will be singing. 

If there’s anything you need to get off your chest then just say it, Lucas. Nobody likes a Bitter Betty. Or a jealous one, for that matter.

Although I admittedly am a little offended that I wasn’t booked months in advance, I am very excited about performing at my Aunt’s wedding this weekend, along with the rest of the glee club. I already have many amazing song ideas, but if anyone has some requests then don’t be too shy to bring them up!

That’s basically what he told me, yes. But I don’t want to make excused for his behavior, obviously he was very wrong. I’m just trying to be supportive of him wanting to turn over a new leaf. What do you mean? I’m still here, I’m still me! Obviously I wouldn’t go as far as saying that we need to do this at Sectionals, but in glee club... I don’t know, if it helps them then maybe...

Even though I’m usually right about people straight from the get go, even I can make a mistake sometimes, Lucas. And yes, I do think I was wrong about him. He’s genuinely trying to be a better person, but peer pressure and issues with his mom are making it difficult for him. However, if we can make at least one of those Neanderthals change their bully ways, I think we should do whatever we can to make it happen, right? And yes, that means perhaps even going as far as supporting their underwhelming performances.

Wait, do you really mean that? You think Mateo and I have chemistry?? I mean, um, okay, if you say so... I don’t know why you’re surprised that I managed to convince him. I can be very convincing when I want to be, that’s why I was chosen to lead the team, silly. Mateo and I just... talked a lot last night, and he’s really not a bad person, Lucas. Admittedly he’s a little misguided, but he told me he wants to be a better person and I simply wanted to help him with that... That’s all...

Um, what do you mean, Lucas? It was simply a duet... granted, it was hardly my best performance, considering Mateo couldn’t keep up with me vocally at all, but I’m still not sure what point you’re trying to make here??

I believe that, since you guys get your asses handed to you in literally every game you play. At least with glee club it will be worth it, because there’s an actual pay off. Last year we went to compete in New York, and this year I’ll make sure we actually win too. Please, she can’t be that bad. She’s your mom, and moms support their kids. Or maybe you just like brunettes with a great bullshit detector. Oh, okay... what uh, what do you want to do then?

It’s okay, sometimes you need to suffer for the arts. The end result is what matters, and it will most definitely be worth it. Of course I won’t, but I think that even she will realize eventually that you’re helping a lot of people, and be proud of you for that too. Almost sounds like you have a type, Mateo...
