Like "did you remember the best you ever had?" in previous seasons should be enough to understand why he's relapsing now and, also, to make us wonder if he's starting to remember something (👀). (Besides the fledgling trauma obv)

Also Fareed is an important character this season if I understand what book readers are saying so let's not humble him as just "a blood bag substitute".

I'm curious. So we know that Dan (snort, but y'know it's growing on me) is relapsing hard on drug blood this season. Is he actually drinking from Dr. Bansali, or does he just provide him with blood? I was a bit confused with that because Eric said Daniel is traumatized, but not how Louis was when he refused to drink from people .

Hi there, anon! Daniel isn’t drinking directly from Dr. Fareed Bhansali. He’s drinking blood provided by Fareed. For example, in the scene on the bus with the hookah, the blood is in the hookah. I realize that the action in Episode 1 is so chaotic that it’s tricky to perceive exactly what’s going on at certain points unless you watch it a few times through.

Also, it might shock you to hear this, but Daniel isn’t relapsing hard. His drug use is actually moderate. At least in Episodes 1-6, we never see him in an altered state like we see Lestat in altered states. We may see him drinking from Dee after she’s/they’ve (I’m still a bit unclear on Dee’s pronouns, admittedly) done a line, but he’s in control of his actions.
