the reason i need the weirdo armand who blends drinks based on nothing but colour and feeds garbage disposals and makes weird home movies in the show is because as much as i talk about armand and the cycles of amadeo and marius they're like...the ultimate proof that he is not what anyone has tried to make him. he's not an eternal sex slave or child bride or cult leader or abusive figure. he tries to be all these things because they're how he experienced the world in his most formative years but at the end of the day he has a big heart and he wants to be loved and he wants to experience the world as it is and he wants to watch the same movie over and over again and he wants to protect those he cares about and he wants to ride jet skis and he wants to make a human boy coffee in the mornings and he wants to build a terrible consumerist island and and he wants to be a good father and
To think that the only character who was truly in Louis's corner this season, with no expectations on either side was Lemuel. Truly. Truly I teared up a little while seeing a gifset of "safe?" Safe. Nearly home "you get what you wanted out there?" Yeah. Yeah. Like that is just such a friend thing to do- like text me when you get home type of thing, and Louis desperately needed/needs a friend where there are no expectations.
anyways loumand is the most fascinating, most beautiful, most complex romance in the books and through season one and two and that is all i care about. fuck whatever the hell they decided to do in season three, my man armand would legitimately never fucking do that shit.
my brief tumblr break has rewired my brain and i have decided to be hopeful ☺️
listen, when i watched the legend of korra season 2, i rage quit and hated the show for years and years. but then the studio had a better budget for seasons 3 & 4 and they were able to increase the quality SO MUCH that it was even better than season 1 had been! they worked through/fixed all of the mischaracterization of season 2 AND made the characters work for it! no one's growth was easy and their arcs ended up being so beautiful (i literally SOBBED when characters demonstrated their growth!). now it's one of my absolute favorite shows! (especially once i divorced it from atla in my mind lol)
ANYWAY what i'm saying here is that it's VERY possible for amc to get back on track for season 4! will they? no clue. but maybe they'll make one shitty season, learn from their mistakes (ditch rolin) and make something beautiful in the future
