Simon regularly teases Alec and Alec always glares at him. They don’t mean it. Well. Alec means it a little bit.
Always sassing people together.
Simon introduces video games to Alec. He goes easy on him so that Alec doesn’t get discouraged … which turns out to be a mistake because Alec’s a quick learner and surprisingly competitive and beats Simon’s ass. Simon sputters and demands a round 2.
Simon eventually gets Alec to fist bump him. Eventually.
Both of them being dragged shopping by Magnus and Isabelle and complaining to each other about holding their respective partners’ bags.
They have movie nights. Simon gets Alec hooked on Marvel movies, and Alec doesn’t really mind. He has, after all, read the comics.
Sometimes they watch anime. Which Alec would never admit.
Alec gets Simon to read his favorite books. Alice in Wonderland, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes, The Secret Garden, and Alec refuses to have movie nights with Simon until he reads them. Simon does, begrudgingly, and actually loves them.
Isabelle and Magnus think Alec and Simon’s budding friendship is cute, so they plan double dates, hang out and drag Simon and Alec with them, etc.
Alec gives Simon archery lessons.
Sometimes it’s not all fun and games. Sometimes Simon pushes too far on a button he didn’t know Alec had, sometimes Alec’s in a mood and accidentally hurts Simon’s feelings, but Isabelle and Magnus always get them to make up.
They’re both pretty introverted, and not that close, so when things are bad they’re not exactly at the top of each other’s speed dial. But when they are together during those times, they just talk to each other. About what’s going on, why there’s a problem. They talk, and listen, and understand. It’s quiet, and honest, and something both of them are happy to have.
Simon finds out that Alec has the weirdest sense of humor. Most of the time it’s just witty, or sarcastic, or dark, but other times it’s super quirky and odd and plain dorky, and Simon wasn’t expecting that. He think it suits Alec.
Simon drags out Alec out to watch his band perform. Alec grumbles but still gives constructive criticism.
They’re both very happy with their friendship, weird though it may be.
