idk if anyone else has had this thought, but here goes:

kit’s last name for most of his life is Rook

a Rook is, yes, a type of bird but it’s also a chess piece

the chess piece is a castle

as of the end of TDA & the beginning of TWP, kit is staying with jem, tessa & mina who are members of the Carstairs family

what is the symbol of the Carstairs family, class?

that’s right, it’s a castle

and, in chess, the Rook can protect the King with a move called ‘castling’

foreshadowing kit saving ash or kieran (or both) in some way in TWP

this could also foreshadow his own Kingship over all of Fae by the end of the series

Something I’m excited for in TWP: Uncle Kieran.

Like, Kit is canonically his great-something nephew and I honestly do think he’ll try to take him under his wing. Kieran doesn’t want power and we know Kit definitely doesn’t. I think this will bond them. Kieran has Adaon, but outside of that he doesn’t seem to be close with the rest of his family. So, I think it would be interesting to see how he interacts with this new relative. Obviously the dynamics will be impacted by the threat of the First Heir to the Unseelie throne and the optics of that in Kieran’s court. But I still think Kieran would try to support Kit as much as possible.

I’m also just excited for Kit to embrace his faerie heritage and, hopefully, see Kieran help him explore it.

Ty has abandonment issues and grew up in a family they would always lie to protect each other.

These two are going to have issues beyond what happened in 2012.

cant stop thinking about kit’s fae heritage starting to show in his physical appearance the more he starts to unveil it

im not just talking about pointy ears but yk . little changes that make him look .. different?? tiny fangs, his smile turning a little too sharp, the glint in his eyes even more mischievous it turns the blue a shade darker

he is the same but also not. really ? but the differences are so minimal u can notice only if u stare at him for a long time
