Things anti-truscum are okay with: wishing death on others, sending rape threats, sending death threats, lying to doctors to get hormone treatments, self diagnosing mental illnesses
Things anti-truscum aren't okay with: Saying the word stupid, saying you need gender dysphoria in order to be trangender
When truscum say stuff like “There’s no such thing as a non-dysphoric trans person (Provided they haven’t fully transitioned)” I really just feel bad for them.
Dysphoria doesn’t (necessarily) just vanish with surgery (which I assume is what “fully transitioned” is supposed to mean). I’m postop, I’ve been on HRT for years, and I still struggle with dysphoria.
Those fuckers are in for a world of disappointment.

Because the person’s body does not match what they’ve been conditioned to believe that certain gender is SUPPOSED to look like. Gender =/= sex. You don’t need to have certain sex charasterics or genitalia to be certain gender. Some people have easier time accepting that they don’t need to change their body to REALLY be their gender. For some people, it’s something that they have to go through to finally fit the idea of themselves. Both are fine. And then there are people who experienced dysphoria but have learned to accept that there’s no certain way for a body to look like to match a gender, and don’t experience it anymore. Which is also valid
Like, do you really think that someone being raised in a world where all you see is “boy = penis, flat chest, masculine clothing, traditionally “masculine” hobbies” and “girl = vagina, breasts, feminine clothing, traditionally “feminine” hobbies” wouldn’t fuck up the way people view gender and how they should look and act to REALLY be that gender? It just means that our society is fucked up about gender, nothing else, and truscum are straight up playing into that cissexist definition of gender

When you look at third genders, though, they do fall down to the Western concept of gender roles.
I can promise you, in a world where there was no gender binary I would still have dysphoria. Being able to cope with dysphoria doesn’t make it not there.

you have dysphoria. you treat it through medical transition, and then you’re done. you’ve transitioned! you’re happy with your body now and everything is legally corrected. you no longer have dysphoria.
but you are not suddenly cisgender. you are still transgender, even without your dysphoria.
so basically, saying you need to have dysphoria as a symptom to be trans points at all the happy post-transition transgender folk and says “yeah you’re not trans anymore, that means you don’t suffer from discrimination anymore, so kindly shut up.”

By your logic if I have diabetes and I treat it with insulin and watching my diet I no longer have symptoms, so I no longer suffer from diabetes...
except if I need insulin but stop taking it all symptoms come back. Because I’d still suffer from diabetes.
It doesn’t matter if symptoms lessen with treatment, when you first get diagnosed as having diabetes is due to certain symptoms. Not “well I just feel like I have diabetes”. That makes no sense. “I just feel like I am trans makes” exactly as much sense which is 0.
