why do ppl always have the mentality of “OH I MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE ROMANTIC SHIP IN THIS FANDOM OR I WILL DIE” like lmao no u wont. shipping is not a necessity for enjoying things and it shouldn’t be. (nor should u lessen a characters worth based on this)

i’m not saying that enjoying shipping is bad, but you guys will literally see every act of affection as romantic

a kiss on the cheek or holding hands is not inherently romantic in every culture, maybe in some, but NOT ALL

the implication that if this happens in fiction, even between cousins or siblings etc it means they’re dating

is inherently disrespectful/erasure to those cultures (which includes my own)
