the story behind her
on january 18, 1998, kennedy viotto was born in washington d.c. to her parents todd and claire viotto. the family moved around a lot as her father was a high ranking military officer working for the pentagon. which meant that kennedy was never in one place for overly long. as a result, her mother pursued a career as a traveling baker and would often travel to certain areas and venues for her customers. a lot of her time was spent split between her parents due to the demands of their careers. her nights were typically spent outside looking at the stars with intense interest. one of her first gifts was actually a telescope and books that included things like star charts and a variety of different areas. this just furthered her love for the subject and she pushed herself to learn more so long as it was within her grasp. she is someone who very rarely gives up and will do almost anything to reach her dreams and make sure that they are actually achievable, rather than they be something sit just beyond her reach. her ambition was shown at a very young age and her parents were happy to feed her intellect with anything that they could.
the family moved after the events of september 11, 2001, when kennedy was three years old, they found themselves all the way across the country in seattle, washington, where the family spent a short time before moving to several other places along the way since todd’s job for the military was extremely demanding and he needed to be wherever they sent him. it was very rare for her to keep friends for overly long with the way that she was moved around so much. once her powers made an appearance, the family accommodated and kennedy was sent to xavier’s school for gifted youngsters, where she spent a majority of her childhood and eventually her teenage years. this is where she made a lot of her friends, within the home. her love of the stars never faded and this is how she later adapted the name and alias, lady saturn. she even wears multiple rings and bracelets that are supposed to represent the planet’s many rings. kennedy was prized for her intelligence above else and is shown as a very bright academic scholar. soon enough, she found herself out in the world working alongside other members of the x-men before her father picked her up from the school and took her on her next adventure.
she ended up in sokovia where the military was working with shield to snuff out hydra. while working on her college degree online, she became a spy for shield, this also allowed for the organization to keep her on their radar as a powered individual. this was also used as an in to make sure that she kept herself out of trouble and didn’t end up in the wrong hands. this is where she befriended both pietro and wanda maximoff. for the most part, she avoided attending protests and riots, thinking that her cover would somehow getting blown, so a majority of the time she laid low. though she regularly met up with the twins and invited them to her home while her father was out. aside from that her life is spent studying for her degree and keeping loose contact with those that she met at xavier’s, this is simply because she does want to seem like she is in fact trying, rather than just dropping contact. despite how she acts a lot of the time, she does really care about the people that she does know and considers as a friend if not a very close friend. she tries desperately to try and make it so people don’t seem disposable to her because it’s far from the truth.
after finishing up in sokovia, kennedy found herself in new york, not only still working and operating under shield, but finding herself as an avenger nonetheless. as of currently, she is going through graduate school while she can to get a masters in astronomy which she is still very much devoted to. she is extremely knowledgeable young woman and quite smart for her age. aside from doing regular work, she enjoys spending time in the local coffee shops or in the clubs. one day when she’s out of everything, she hopes that maybe she can work for nasa at some point. nowadays, kennedy is infamous for her attitude and can often be seen occasionally bickering with others over small things, but nothing major. she is happy to say that she currently has a really tight friend circle that is easy for her to keep up with. to put it simply, she’s really happy with where she is at in her life currently. not to mention that she holds a good sense of pride with herself and is absolutely glowing with all sorts of self confidence.
skills and power
kennedy is proficient in hand to hand combat. nine times out of ten, she’ll prefer to use her hands rather than handle any sort of weapon. she is excellent when it comes to any sort of stealth related tasks and it takes a lot of pressure to be able to crack her. whether she is working solo or with a group, her standards for performance are usually the same since she can work very well in a variety of capacities. kennedy can create, shape, move, control, interact with and manipulate gravity, a natural phenomenon in which all things with mass or energy — including planets, stars, galaxies, and light — attract (or gravitate toward) one another.
gravity manipulation would allow one to increase or decrease gravity, be it the gravity of the environment or individual objects. increasing gravity would cause everything in an area to become heavier, causing loose objects to propel to the ground, cause people to be immobilized or crushed depending on the amount of gravitation force applied. when doing the exact opposite (decreasing gravity), she could achieve a similar effect to zero gravity since all objects would float upwards, or allow her to lift heavier objects with astonishing ease due to the decreased weight. with enough control and skill, she could attract or repel objects regardless of direction, achieving an effect akin to telekinesis, ignore or defy the laws of gravity altogether, allowing her to walk on walls or ceilings or manipulate orbital fields on anything.
she can control her gravitational field, allowing her to move faster, be more agile, conserve stamina, or fly, all by decreasing the effects of gravity on herself. master-level users such as herself would be able to induce zero gravity at will, generate black holes or exert power over the inverse of gravity, anti-gravity.
gravity manipulation is one of the most versatile in combat utility, allowing her to achieve offensive and defensive capabilities. offensive uses include repelling enemies with such force to kill them instantly, increasing gravity to crush or immobilize opponents, or hurling large objects at her enemy with astonishing force and speed by decreasing the pull of gravity on said objects. defensive uses include creating a gravitational force field to repel all attacks (similar to anti-gravity) or anchoring herself to the ground to tank heavy physical attacks, or decreasing gravity of an attack to weaken its potency and speed.
