Sony AHF
Sony AHF was one of Sony’s better Type I / normal-bias ferric cassette tapes, positioned above the more basic CHF line in the company’s lineup.
Best known from the late 1970s into the early 1980s, AHF built a strong reputation as a high-grade ferric tape with solid bass, clear overall sound, and lower hiss than many standard Type I cassettes. Because of that, it’s still well regarded by cassette collectors and tape users today.
In simple terms: it was not a chrome or metal tape, but it was considered a very good normal-bias cassette for its time.
For anyone using one now, condition matters more than the label alone. A sealed or well-preserved Sony AHF can still be very usable, but storage history, pressure pad condition, shell condition, and age all make a difference.

I have to say, every time I see someone holding a record with their bare hands on the playing surface I cringe a little.
