Brought to me to halter break at 5 months old, Jane was a scrawny little big headed baby who was failing to thrive properly, as her mother was very sick while Jane was in utero and she just never blossomed the way she should have. Upon weaning, Jane experienced some uncomfortable colic episodes and her owners brought back her momma to send Jane to my veterinary hospital to get her gut issues fixed before trying to wean again. The second weaning went smoothly, and Jane was on the right path finally. Slowly she began to blossom, and I told her owners that out of the 3 they sent me to train, Jane was by far the most talented. In February I marketed Jane to every model (in hand showing) person I knew, and everyone loved her movement, but hated her pedigree... so no one would buy her. Fast forward to May, and her owners asked me if I would show her for them, and since I had never shown a yearling, or really much at all, I was nervous to accept the offer. Going into showing Jane, I vowed to leave her entirely natural through and through. No shoes, no drugs, nothing to enhance her stride in any way. just me and my frog legged princess showing what you can do if you just take the time to train them. After winning her first show, where she beat a previous world champion halter colt, the very same people I marketed her to wanted a price again, however her owners decided she was no longer for sale. After show season was over for us, I brought her back to my barn for some vacation time and to be a baby for a bit when her owners approached me with an offer I simply could not refuse. They knew the love me and Jane had for each other, and how good of a team we made, and decided to not break us up. This exceptionally talented filly has a bright future filled with love and appreciation for always being the easiest and most well-minded filly to be around. Welcome to the family, Jane's Melody <3
