Ilse and Moritz go thrifting with Ernst!

It started as just Moritz and Ilse’s way to hang out whenever Melchior and Wendla were busy, but soon it became a weekly occurrence. Hanschen once offhandedly mentioned that he took Ernst trhrifting on the weekends, and Ilse enthusiastically offered to bring him along whenever she went with Moritz.

Now they have a little club!

(Otto once called it the “Thursday Thrifting Threesome” and promptly had a shoe thrown at him.)

Moritz: I wrote you all a letter explaining why I killed myself. And I’d like to read it for you now—

Melchior: WOAH NO THANKS! No, no that’s ok, I’m good! Kind of morbid actually, yikes!

Melchior and Moritz are making a homicide pact against him as we speak.

Hänschen sings in the shower.

YES, Ernst has recorded a video of what he could hear from outside the bathroom.

and YES, the little bastard DOES use it to blackmail Hänschen into doing chores around their shared apartment.

(and YES, Hänschen knew he was going to end up doing the chores anyway.

He’s not scared of Ernst’s threat of showing all their friends the video because quite frankly:

1) being threatened by Ernst is like being threatened by a fluffy teddy bear

2) none of those bastards can judge him anyway. They lost their rights to when they had a collective manic breakdown in the basement at Moritz’ 17th birthday party.)

Georg plays Dungeons and Dragons

He’s made a campaign with The Core Six (Melchior, Moritz, Hänschen, Ernst, himself, and Otto). It’s chaotic at best.

They got through their first dungeon because Ernst rolled a nat-20 and kissed an orc boss to death.

Contrary to popular belief, Hänschen is the one who’s really into live theatre.

Ernst, of course, appreciates shows all the same (musical theatre especially) but Hänschen’s the one who auditioned for every single show he could, and nearly lost his mind when he landed the role of Tybalt in a junior year production of Romeo and Juliet.

Moritz and Ernst are freakishly good pranksters.

Otto says it’s because they’re the most innocent looking ones, and no one ever suspects the nice guys.

Georg says it’s because they pin half of their antics on Melchior, and everyone— even Melchior himself— believes them.

MORITZ STIEFEL IS JEWISH!

The whole Stiefel family is Jewish, actually!

While Moritz isn’t by any means a religious fanatic, he loves the traditions and cultural aspects this part of his family adds!

He always invites Melchior over for his parents’ annual Hannukah party (as years go on this invite extends to Wendla, Ilse, Martha, Hans And Ernst! Otto And Georg also get invited but often times they get stuck at the Zirschnitz Hannukah Get Together instead)!

They play dreidel with the younger Stiefels (even if Melchior doesn’t have a clue how it works), try to see who can eat the most h’ordeuvres before Baba yells at them, and— after a few too many drinks of the wine Hans snuck in— very embarrassingly sit in the basement and try to learn Hebrew holiday songs from a quite drunk Moritz.

Moritz and Melchior have matching ‘Fothermuckers’ shirts. They gave it to each other as Hannukah/Christmas gifts.

Hänschen has gone to a carnival one (1) time in his life and it was to win this big stuffed whale plush for Ernst after he ended up incredibly sick in the hospital with some strain of the flu.

It’s been 3 years and Ernst keeps the whale at his bedside.

Otto cannot play an instrument to save his life. He once tried to play with Georg’s piano* and somehow ended up breaking off a black key. He was so embarrassed no one ever asked how, and Georg got so upset that it was never brought up again.

*Euphamistic innuendo FULLY intended... but also It was Just A Piano

Moritz showed him Lemon Boy and from there it’s been a nice roll downhill.

Favorite song at the moment: Meteor Shower! (It makes him think of Hänschen!)

Moritz owns 10 plain blue shirts (each in a slightly lighter hue than the last) and wears them sequentially. It drives Melchior crazy, though he can’t pin why— he just knows that the blue “seems off”.
