I recently updated the logo for the company On The Go America. The owners had decided to rename the company because their services had changed a good bit. I built a more modern and simple logo off of their original mark. Their logo now represents exactly what the business provides!

Typography II, Project 1 Reflection
This project made me think a lot about layout which is something I donât know much about. I learned how to put emphasis on information without using gaudy effects. It was a simple approach to something that will be used often in my future. This assignment definitely made layout seem a lot less blurry than it was before. It also made me realize how good form correlates with a firm grid layout. I never understood what a grid was really being used for until this project. In past projects where a grid was used, I sort of overlooked it and inly applied it because I had to. Now, I can see where it can be helpful and lead the designer in a more logical direction than what would normally come of just placing things here and there.
I can definitely improve on craft and paying attention to detail more. When I trimmed my pieces, I noticed there was a single crop mark on the bottom of almost every piece. I didnât check to see if they were in perfect condition until the morning of critique or I would have gone back and fixed the mistake. I also noticed after I printed that one of my layouts was off centerâ like way off center. I should have paid more attention to the file before rushing to print it. I worry about printing all the time so I typically rush to get it done. I need to take time ands low down to notice where I am improving and where I am making mistakes. I have thought about buying my own fancy printer so I wouldnât have to go anywhere to get hard copies, but I donât know if it is worth it in the future. For now, it would definitely be useful, but once I am out of college will it be? I have a printer at home, but it doesnât print on cardstock which I have never even heard of. Is that even a real thing?!
Also, I am still trying to figure out the differences and uses of the en dash, em dash, and the hyphen. I thought I used the correct one in all of my designs, but now I am starting to think maybe I used a hyphen instead of an en dash. Who decided there should be different dash for all of these.
