Oi. KB's on a backburner currently but I wanted to pop on one of my Mario-verse accs and say this because in the past, I have seen the opposite take on some blogs here in the Mario RPC - I didn't want to potentially stir up "drama" but Idc anymore.

(I could see them bonding over taking out the mages. Karik is also playing a part in a sense with the bowser worship part of it is genuine but it is played up a little because Karik is used to acting that way before others. In reality Karik's much more subdued. But I am excited to see how things go.)

Oooh! King Boo may or may not pick up on that; he loves trying to analyze and pick apart others (mostly for the chance to harass them on a more personal level). I can see him growing pretty curious of Karik, but who knows if it'll be for the better or worse lol.

Writing with a dangerous muse can be really interesting and exciting, but there are some things to be mindful about to make the experience fun for everyone involved.

When interacting with a dangerous muse, keep in mind that it’s not the other mun’s responsibility to rein their muse in if your muse is constantly being rude. Antagonize a dangerous muse at your own risks! Especially if there was no prior plotting involved, taunting/insulting a dangerous muse can result in your muse getting injured or worse.

Sometimes, a muse is going to be more powerful than yours. It’s more likely to be the case when interacting with a very dangerous muse. It’s ok if your muse doesn’t always have the upper hand, it’s ok if your muse isn’t always the strongest, or the most dangerous. Power imbalances are fun, but they require compromise. 

Remember that it’s not always fun for the mun if their dangerous muse only gets used for antagonistic purposes. Yes, of course, if someone is writing a “villain” or a very dangerous muse, they know it will lead to antagonistic threads. But it doesn’t mean they don’t want to explore other themes as well! All muses have nuances.

Don’t forget that muse ≠ mun. Even if someone is writing a muse that has done terrible things, it does not mean that they condone their muse’s actions, or agree with their muses.

His haunting laughter pierced her eardrums, but she fought to keep from flinching. Since he obviously took pleasure in frightening the living, she didn't want to lose the opportunity to seriously speak with him. Such a strange form: round with a gaping grin and sharpened teeth. A crown glittered on top of his head, confirming his status...unless the mischievous specter stole that crown. For the moment, she would give him the benefit of the doubt.

Most curious of all was that, unlike the spirits she encountered most, this one appeared to have never been human. Or belonging to a creature she ever saw. To top it off, he claimed ancient roots, adding to the mystery.

" King Boo. Well, it's a pleasure to meet you. " She tilted her head slightly. " I hope this isn't offensive to ask, but were you...alive once? Or is this how you were born? "

❝ Was I ALIVE once? ❞ This question brings him pause. The specter falls silent, face shifting downwards as one of his little nubs for arms tapped against the area where a chin would likely be on a more humanoid form. Truth be told, he struggled to come up with an answer. His memories of his early years were extremely hazy…

❝ …I dunno! For as long as I can remember, which is a suuuuper long time, I've been like this. But that's FINE with me! ❞ The uncharacteristic introspective expression of King Boo's was gone in seconds. His trademark grin returned as if it never left.

❝ I got to skip the BORING 'mortal' phase. Speaking of which, what even is this world? You got ghosts around in these parts too? ❞

🌸   —   other type of ship mostly just going with the flow now tend to do that with most things to see how things develip organically. Karik is a knight loyal to bowser before all else. Soo, he doesn't have many friends. Or any at all.

Dynamics that take shape from the natural flow of things are always great! I can say right now that KB will most likely frustrate Karik a lot, since he absolutely doesn't respect Bowser (that much) and he isn't afraid to let that show.

But overall, maybe they'll form a tentative allyship. KB has little sense of morals so he's down to help Karik do...whatever, if he gets something out of it (even if it's just entertainment) and if the ghosts in his protection aren't being messed with.

"Lord Bowser is not pleased with your most recent attempt with the brothers. You kidnapped the princess which is off limits. We made it clear to you that anything you do to the brothers is free gain. However, his highness is displeased you did something to Peach. He demands to do something to make amends for your action."

The koopas and boos did have a treaty of sorts between them. Something of a partnered thing, since boos were allowed to enlist in Bowser's army. Karik didn't know all the details since he was a warrior. However, since he was still "fired" technically so this job was put onto him while he was still hunting down mages.

"I was also in the area because I am hunting down mages who are against my lord. Given the location could be a necromancer."

Karik was killing two birds trying to deal with both issues.

King Boo's initial response to the Koopa soldier was to stare blankly. One blink, two blinks…then a third. Suddenly, he broke out into a cacophonous bout of laugher.

❝ HAHAHAHA! ❞ He wasn't expecting that! But then again, it was extremely popular knowledge of how obsessed Bowser was with the Mushroom Kingdom's monarch. Of course he'd take issue with anyone else harassing her, even his business partner.

❝ SORRY I didn't get Bowsie's permission to snatch the pink princess! It just SLIPPED my mind! ❞ Snickering, he idly floated around Karik with an open-mouthed grin that heavily implied he wasn't taking this seriously. He felt like playing along, even.

❝ Mages huh…? WELL, why don't I help you hunt them down? Would THAT be enough to get back into the Koopa King's GOOD graces? ❞

in fact, his hatred of luigi has given kb more life than he's felt in a few decades. so you bet he's gonna cling to it uvu u_u
