I still have to include all my interviews, more audio and voice overs, and obviously transitions.
STMP No. 12
The disparity of societal beauty standards is articulated through Bonnie Lucas’ “The Song.”
The portrait is different and unique because of the use of 3D mediums and textual components. The portrait displays and uses societally-deemed feminine characteristics. Through the use of the color pink, the dress with frills, and the plastic doll legs, they symbolize the press societal definition places on females.

Will: The human body is 70% water. So we are basically just cucumbers with anxiety.
Nico: Excuse me, with the amount of salt and alcohol that I consume, I'm more like an anxiety pickle.

FADE IN:
(FIRST-PERSON POV) WALKING THROUGH COLLEGE AVENUE
Camera is being held to shoot from my perspective or what I see as I am walking through College Ave campus.
EXT. QUAD 1 HOUSE 15 - DORM ROOM
SIMONE and ASHLEY are sleeping in bed. It is 9AM. It has been a long night. They didn’t go to bed until 3AM. The fan in the room continues to circulate, for the purpose of providing white noise as they sleep. The room is disheveled with clothes and shoes.
SIMONE is an 18-year old, freshman in college, who has much more appreciation for her sleep then her appearance, but spends most days getting up early for class or work
ASHLEY is Simone’s 19-year old roommate and best friend since middle school who dedicates much time to binge-watching Netflix.
Harp music plays in the background as the camera scopes across the room. Camera unexpectedly stops and a static transition appears.
NARRATOR
Hold on let's back track…
Sound of a rewinding records blasts as a visual demonstrating the idea that time is reversing.
SIMONE
Oh my gosh!!! What the f***?!
Ashley tosses and turns at the sound of the alarm. Both wince as the sunlight floods their room.
NARRATOR
Did you guys always know you wanted to go to college?
SIMONE
(Muttering)
In my family it was expected of you to go to college, so not going to college was not really a choice. And in my family, even though it was expected, it was not always the reality.
FADE OUT:
SIMONE continues to responding to question. As her voice continues in the background, pictures from her childhood display in the format of a montage.
SIMONE (CONT’D)
All throughout my life, moving up through the education system, the ultimate objective was going to college. And if I am being completely honest, not until my sophomore year did I fully understand the meaning of going to college.
NARRATOR
(over visuals displaying statistics)
Based on, (insert cited reference), (insert statistics about the perception of college these days)
FADE OUT (of statistical visuals):
ASHLEY
Not many people in my family attended college. I am the oldest between me and my sister so, I was the first out of everyone in my house to college. So for my family the whole process of preparing, planning, and financing for college is very unfamiliar territory.
SIMONE
This whole time in high school there’s constant reminders of how this, that, and third, is going to be necessary or useful for preparing for college. But then when it actually came to that time I found that the
Simone redirects statement back to the scene at moment.
ASHLEY
I mean if you really ask me if I wanted to go to college that might be a different dstor *laughs*
SIMONE
Can you imagine if we tried to go through this without each other.
ASHLEY
I’m just glad that I have a great support system--
SIMONE
--as much as they annoyed me about making a schedule and managing my time, I do not know what I wo0uld do without them.
ASHLEY
What about me??
SIMONE
Really?
ASHLEY
Its funny because people thought that we would never be able to live together, but look at us now!
SIMONE
Facts! Who would ever think we would be here today?
