Portrayed of the king crowning himself, this is a copy of the original located in the Louvre. One of the higher powers as t the time thought that having the crown put on himself would seem too arrogant. So the painting was modified as if he was crowning his queen.

The story behind this painting is pretty amazing, when a goddess fell in love with a mortal she noticed that her love would not be able to last forever due to the fact he would be dying soon. Her decision: to put him to sleep forever, that way he would never age and she would never lose him

Hercules painting done in the cealing. Most of the franchise court really admired Greek philosophers as well as their mythology. Even though they has many done by Roman artists they didn't like the style because of how emotional they intended to be. The French usually liked their sculptures to have less emotions, as this showed their lack of empathy.
