Hey, what’s up, I’m a nerd with a head full of busted wiring. I like 80s fantasy, 90s anime, and 00s ambient breakbeat drum and bass. I have approximate knowledge of many things, and specific knowledge of many video games.

I make old-school Let’s Plays on youtube, attempting to blend live play with researched critical commentary, and you can find them HERE. They’re good.

I also stream live on Twitch, with a more casual and/or unhinged vibe, and you can find that HERE. These are also good.

I’m also pretty unwell long-term nowadays, so I can be inconsistent with deadlines on occasion but really, who cares. Also this is my letsplay/livestreaming blog while @self-critical-automaton is my personal one.

Recruiting for TTRPG games

I like to GM tabletop RPG games. I haven't done it in a while. I have stuff I wanna run. I want to put together a large-ish group of players (minimum 8-10 people) who are interested in playing with me, from which to draw varied smaller lineups of players for different projects. This would be online play, using a virtual tabletop, and both TTRPG newcomers and TTRPG veterans are welcome.

I have a lot of goals and plans, but in the immediate future I want to run: - An open-table old-school D&D sandbox - Some published Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay adventures, possibly leading into the classic Enemy Within campaign - Some one-shots across various systems

Posting here is an attempt to throw a wider net without resorting to recruiting total strangers on large communities like reddit or big public TTRPG servers. I'm mostly looking for mutuals, long-term follower or follow-ees, or anyone else one might claim to at least somewhat-loosely 'know'.

🎮 Unscheduled Streams🎮 ANY DAY ANY TIME - ANY TIME Current Game (If Any In Particular): Elden Ring Occasional unscheduled streams where basically just casually invite you all to watch me playing whatever I happen to be playing through casually.

Notes: - I take a 5-10 min break every hour of gameplay, for health reasons. - For scheduled streams I ping with an @ everyone at stream time, as the schedule indicates upcoming streams in advance. For unscheduled streams, I try to ping a few hours in advance and then again at stream time, but sometimes only ping at the start of the stream.

There's a real trend amongst queer gamers to take a work with a lot of powerful things to say about a diverse array of topics and present it solely as 'these two characters are happily in love and that is everything the game is about', discarding every complex issue or nuanced theme at play and completely flattening the whole thing down to just that. A total refusal to even look at the rest of it, at anything difficult or painful and to instead pretend it's all shallow happiness.

The love those robots shared became a refusal to let go that tortured them both beyond sanity. Those old men develop an intimacy across a distance through which they can never fuck. I'm going to start foaming at the mouth.
