A Double-Feature Review: Scare Me/Werewolves Within.
To prepare myself for Heart Eyes, I took some time to revisit the other two directorial horror efforts of Josh Ruben! Here are my honest thoughts of both "Werewolves Within" and "Scare Me!"
I have made no secret of how big of a Josh Ruben fan I am. The man is a talented comedian, having been a part of CollegeHumor/Dropout for so long a time. Most Dropout fans will know him as one-third of the Noise Boys, the Mama to Precious Plum, and a director/writer of other Dropout/CollegeHumor content. However, in the vein of comedians making splashes in the horror genre, Josh Ruben has beenā¦
Horror Comedies.
It's a bit late in the day, but I wrote a fun little post about horror comedies I like! :D
Laughter is said to be some of the best medicine. I mean, maybe not for like literal medical problems, but the phrase is kind of a cute happy thing. I love certain types of comedy. Like the good one-liners, zany shenanigans, or even recurring gags make me giggle. I am also a horror fan though. (Sit down! Sit down! You all knew this already, unless this is the first blog post youāre reading fromā¦
Been a while since I updated here! Because itās been a while since I have watched any horror films.
But yesterday I watched Werewolves Within! So that was a pretty good movie! I loved the cast of characters, the misdirection. However, the clues were a bit too obvious and it was easy to pinpoint the werewolf(ves?) halfway through the film. However, this didnāt really take away from the experience, as it was still very enjoyable despite correctly identitying the werewolf(ves?)
Best things about this movie were for sure the cast, the comedy, and the witty dialogue.
I do wish that there either was a bit more mystery to the identity of the werewolf(ves.) ^_^
Rating The Horror Movies I Have Watched.
Hey!Ā (This is a repost from the other blog! š Just making sure itās on the new blog!) Surprise! Itās been a while since I have done this, but I think itās time to share some unsolicited horror movie opinions! Doesnāt that sound so very fun! During my attempts to watch horror movies every day for the past few Marches and Octobers, I have watched quite a few horror films. Like there have been aā¦

Ten Ways to Survive a Horror Film. (Seven Years Later)
Back in 2017, I wrote a post called Ten Ways to Survive a Horror Film (Not to be confused with āTen Ways to Survive a Slasher Filmā #comingsoon >:3) in which I used my characters to detail some silly horror scenarios. However, I am not the same age as I was back then. I am a very serious author now⦠Okay, maybe not so serious. But I did want to go back and rewrite this post, as I seem to beā¦

More Unsolicited Horror Movie Ratings!
Anyone who knows me, knows that the last post barely put a dent in the number of horror films I have watched. The most surprising thing about it to me, is that I actually found time to watch them all. But I really like a lot of these movies, and I know there are others out there who may like them too. So with that being said, you know the deal! Here are ten more horror movies and my rankings.ā¦
Horror movie/game sequels that use the same character are so funny to me because it's like, I went through the horrors, it'll probably haunt me forever, but I survived...I survived. And then a couple years later: fuck, shit, the horrors again?! Are you kidding me?! Alright, I guess we're doing this

How To Survive A Horror Film (2023)
I have followed ReadyComicsRoll on Tiktok for a while. So when I saw that the channel was behind the production of a horror short film, I knew I wanted to watch it. I just needed time. And that time has come.
Wonderful movie! This is clearly made by people who love horror films! (Especially slashers like Scream.) There was a good amount of explanation of horror tropes and qualities like the character archetypes. The message of the first half seems simple enough. Follow the rules, and increase your odds of getting out alive. Break them, and it's a lot easier for the killer to cross you off their list.
For its twenty-eight-minute run time, it was a good film. Some of the dialogue was a bit interesting. But I didn't really mind. The film had an idea, and it executed it pretty well.
I did see the first twist coming. But I didn't see the motive/reason coming. And it honestly adds a flair to the reveal.
HOWEVER, the second one immediately got me! That was so artsy!
The practical effects in this film were good and there was some good humor that actually made me chuckle. A well-done flick. (Also, DAHLIA! I haven't seen Dalhia in anything outside of Thomas Sanders' YouTube Channel!)
I am going to do more unqualified horror film reviews!
Starting tomorrow! Yay! ^_^
Also! Work on my collection and the zombie anthology have commenced for now.

Day Seventeen: Nerdy Prudes Must Die
A fun horror musical on YouTube is by no means cheating.
I watched this Team Starkid musical last night and had a fantastic time. Some of the songs were super catchy, the jokes landed, and there were some solid moments of terror.
This will also be the second slasher musical I watched in the month of October, after the surprisingly decent Stage Fright.
This is my first Team Starkid project and I am kind of ashamed I started with their newest venture. Because this cast of actors is great. I loved all of the characters and the absurdity of some of the comedy. But it worked. It kept me engaged the whole time.
As a self-proclaimed nerd, I didnāt hate the over exaggerated stereotypes that the musical used. And I loved the central character relationship of Peter and Steph.
The preacherās kid in me got a kick out of Grace Chastity and all her ātotally notā evil antics. (I love Angela Giarratana.) And the big crude football player/fucking monster (Max JƤgerman) was equally hateable and loveable at the same time.
Nerdy Prudes Must Die was a fantastic musical and definitely made me realize I need to watch more of Team Starkid.
Well! Guess I have to watch them all now!
