one of the issues with the writing is how heavy-handed it has become. the first few seasons had some subtlety, but the worst thing about vecna’s introduction to the series is the obnoxious tell-not-show tactic of vecna visions.

for example: hopper’s fear of el sacrificing herself. this was already evident and understandable to those paying attention—we did not need his dead daughter speaking menacingly to him in a vision. we remember the monologue from russia. do the writers no longer trust the viewers at all?
