↺“This is the story of a child that knew nothing but darkness. Never had she gone outside, merely remaining in her cage, clinging onto her first and only ‘pretty thing’.”
The darkness of the room was pierced by a spotlight that shone on a small girl with her back against the wall. She was dressed in rags and didn’t respond to the light nor voice, both of which were just dramatic set pieces in the dream she was experiencing. All around the room were plushies that had been torn into and shredded. The girl herself had skin of red, horns protruding from her head as she clung desperately to a storybook.
“She was a child that had no name, no understanding of the world. She only knew darkness and pain.”
Another spotlight lit up, this time pointing at a trespasser. A voyager that had invaded her dream, surely not by choice.
“The story is now yours, invader. Will you show her warmth or hatred?” The voice sounded distant, detached. Of course it did, it was the voice of the girl the child would eventually become. “Just know that whatever you do this story will have the same ending. A tragedy cannot become anything else.”

The bright light being cast down on Tenshi made her wince slightly, before she adjusted the brim of her hat to cover her vision. What kind of place had she ended up, now...?
“So this time, I’m in this girl’s dream? I don’t really get it... so I’ll just do whatever I want!” An indignant response. To the Celestial, whatever this voice was saying, it felt like a challenge. “If it’s my story, I can make any ending as I please! So...”
“Hey! You there, little oni. Fufufu... fufu... hm?”
Stepping into the darkness, Tenshi broached the smaller child she dubbed an oni, stopping a few steps away from her with a smirk... before her eyes fully adjusted to the dark, and took in the full view of her surrounding area. ... Geez. It sure was a mess here, wasn’t it?
She was pretty sure she heard that voice that had spoken up mention a cage, but this felt more like a prison. With a pause, she shifts her gaze once again at Zero Two, smile faded.
“... Wow. This place is awful. ... Um... Hey, uh. What’s that book you have?”
Taking a seat on the ground, she’d point at the other’s possession while awaiting a response, feeling... awkward. This setting felt so... alien to her. And Tenshi didn’t like it.
