Hello dearest Dear Hearts and Devils!
We’re so excited to officially release the audio clip and transcripts from the AMA on April 13th! We want to thank you all for your patience and understanding while we figured everything out. This whole event has been full of firsts for everyone, so we really wanted to make things right by Joey and Madeleine and respect any of their privacy concerns. They’ve been super sweet to give the go-ahead on everything though!
Included in this post is the AMA audio via Soundcloud, the full transcript, and a barebones transcript. Individual question clips will later be uploaded on here once per day with the transcript below it, so watch for those if you’re interested.
Madeleine and Joey have given permission to share their introduction photo on other platforms as well.

Welly Boots is so gentle at the start, there's absolutely no warning the first time you listen that it's gonna come to your house and punch you repeatedly in the face.
I've literally been sitting here all day thinking "how the FUCK does that guitar part in the middle of Welly Boots FUCK ME UP SO BADLY." It's one of the most basic instruments, heard across most genres, and yet there's SOMETHING about it that just absolutely KILLS me every time.
(In proximity to the "Sing louder than you've sung for me, Grow young each time that thunder in your lungs begins to rumble at the world" line I never stood a chance.)

We saw your instagram post last night where you referred to your long hair as a ‘bad hair phase’ and I think you might want to know just how wrong you are about that. There’s a whole discord server full of us who absolutely love your long hair.
That isn’t to say we don’t like your short hair, we really do. That’s the thing: we love you, every version of you. We love you with long hair, and short hair, and with a beard, and fresh faced, and a full face of makeup. We love you in suits, and in unbuttoned shirts, and in waistcoats, and t-shirts, and wrapped in a tartan blanket, and a white satin dress. We love you as you, and as the Blue Furious Boy, and Jaskier, and Pierre and Colin and Callum and Bobby and all of your other incarnations.
We see you write about the mirror being a scary place. We hear the song lyrics referencing body image. As you’ve said, we know what that’s like and it makes us want to tell you, in as many voices as we can: you’re wonderful and breathtaking and we’re unreasonably in love with everything you do.
I hope you’ve had an outpouring of messages like this since your post and that they’ve given you a wee boost in these trying times and haven’t been too overwhelming. Your music is helping so many of us, so much more than you can know.
All of that said, if you’re still feeling bored and going mad in self isolation, I know an entire discord server full of people who would do anything for an AMA or a live stream, if you’re feeling up to it 😉. And if not, we’ll be here, listening to your music and crying with our yoghurt.

With the world going mad - and the beautiful heart-wrenching response we’ve had from all our Dear Hearts around the world - @theamazingdevil moved the streaming release of our new album The Horror and the Wild up a bit. We figured you might like some fairy lights and fire in this dark shiny world.
