Chapter Excerpt #7.0 [in-progress]
TW- DRUGS/SEXUAL IDEATION/MENTAL ILLNESS
Ashley goes to head out the door to drive to therapy, as she hops in her impala.
“Alright baby, take me to hell! But not the actual hell. Haha.”
Ashley, despite knowing how badly she had needed the therapy appointment, was dreading it more than a fucking plague.
As Ashley was about one mile from her therapist’s house, her car began sputtering.
“No, no, no, no, NO! Not this shit again! I am going to be late!” Ashley panicked.
She hated being late more than anything, or really just hated being noticed or found to be a problem for others.
“Desperate times….” Ashley snapped her fingers, and her car was running smoothly again.
“Ah, never scare me like that again baby!” Ashley sighed a sense of relief—she was going to make it on time for once, and on time for her first appointment at that.
As Ashley parked and hop out of her impala, she felt another wave of panic course through her entire body—causing her brain to feel so overloaded that she felt incapable of moving forward at all.
“Fuck what the hell?”
ASHLEY NEXUS KNOXX YOU HAVE BEEN FLAGGED AND WARNED. DO NOT USE MAGIC OUTSIDE OF YOUR SECTOR AGAIN.—
A cold, condescending yet charming woman's voice played like a stereo in Ashley's head.
Ashley felt her sense of paralyzing panic drop and she had become freed.
“Hey, I had an appointment today for Ashley Knoxx.” Ashley muttered to the receptionist.
“Okay doll, what is your DOB?” the receptionist replied sweetly.
“Its erm—4/20,” Ashley answered as she fidgeted with her wallet.
“Oh, you’re that split form that called aren't you?!” the receptionist backed away slightly in surprise.
“Oh goddess, not this shit again.”
“Yes, yes ma'am.” Ashley replied as she stopped fidgeting and picked at the skin on her forearms.
“O-pk miss, Ashley. Yo-u can h-have a s-seat-t.” The once sweet and bubbly receptionist stuttered as her face went ghostly white.
“Great, another terrified customer.” Ashley mouthed.
As Ashley took her seat, the three other patients waiting moved as far away from her as possible.
“Well, gee doesn’t that do wonders for the mental health!” Ashley yelled sarcastically out of the start of what was going to be pure split form rage.
Ashley had had enough of the looks, the fear, being different, all of it.
“Take a picture. It’d last longer, idiot.”
“Shut up!”
“What? Baby gonna cry?”
Ashley was, in fact, going to be crying very soon when she suddenly felt tears form in her eyes.
“Ugh no!” she wiped her eyes with the roughness of her leather jacket.
Ashley hated emotions and feelings. She hated expressing said emotions and feelings a lot more, though—which showed in moments such as this one.
“Ashley k.?” a woman with pastel pink hair and a medium, short and stocky build walked into the lobby.
Ashley took a double-take and swallowed.
She was quite beautiful, but something bothered Ashley about her—but she couldn’t put her finger on it.
“You ready for our session?” the woman, presumably Doctor Rosa, asked with a grin.
“Creepy... “ Ashley shuddered.
“Awwh, you cold dear? Don't worry, it is plenty warm in the office.” Rosa said to Ashley.
“At least I don’t have to worry about sleeping with this therapist..” Ashley thought as she laughed awkwardly.
“Right this way, come along.” Doctor Rosa showed Ashley into her office, which was all the way at the end of the long hallway that she was leading Ashley down, as the lights flickered around them as they walked down the hallway.
“Name and date of birth, for your records?” the woman asked for security.
“Ashley Knoxx, born on 4/20,” Ashley whispered.
“Great. Now that we are alone…” the woman presumed to be Doctor Rosa, snapped her fingers together as she winks—and transformed to a young-looking Female—about Ashley’s age, and everything she looked for in a girl.
“What in the world—“ Ashley's eyes widened as her jaw dropped almost literally to the floor in awe of the presumed Rosa’s changed appearance—and suddenly, Ashley found herself a bit wet in her nether regions as she repeated the same attempt of a sentence more than once in her head, in an attempt to figure out what the hell was going on.
“Oh my, I suppose you want to know what’s going on here. I get it. Well, let’s begin, shall we? I will start—My name is Doctor Rosa Nunez Ph.D.!” doctor Rosa laughed as she took her seat and motioned Ashley to do the same on her couch directly across doctor Rosa’s desk inside her office.
“Shit she is my therapist?! You have GOT to be joking, right?!” Ashley was so perplexed that she missed hearing the initial introduction that doctor Rosa was trying to give her about herself—to get to know each other better.
“Ah, my form. Is it too distracting?” asked Rosa.
“I can change it back—if you like,” she added as she produced a warming smile on her face that made Ashley feel a pit of attraction that she could not explain within her very core—courtesy of her dissociative hypersexuality.
“Oh hell no, she’s got to be joking, right? Who in their right mind would ever want to have the privilege of sitting across from this fucking dime?” Ashley could have had hearts for eyes at this point, almost as if it were love at first sight—or fuck, as Ashley began imagining all the naughty, kinky acts she would kill to be able to perform on doctor Rosa.
“Oh no, erm—you’re perfect to be quite honest..” Ashley mumbled nervously as she fidgeted with the skin on her forearms.
Doctor Rosa proceeded to regive an introduction as to how she was a shape-shifting former split form herself, but via therapy, she could overcome the debilitating split form personality, hence the ability to change her form. She also explained her reasoning for wearing a more basic form originally—and her reason being she did not want to scare away restricted clients, though she preferred to work with split forms and elementals.
She explained how rare it was for her to find another split form to treat like herself, which only perplexed Ashley further as she thought she was the only elemental turned split form.
“Why don’t you tell me a little about why you are here today, Ashley?” doctor Rosa asked as she pulled out a notepad and a pen.
[insert paraphrased back story here]
“Well, it sounds like you’ve got a few disorders under your belt!” Rosa looked shocked as if she had never had a patient with so many disorders before—but maybe it was just the fact that Ashley was one of the few other split forms to exist in the Luciferse—according to Rosa, at least.
“Disorders like what?” Ashley asked anxiously, as she bit her fingernails.
“Well, for starters, you have a very prominent case of Bipolar 1 with psychotic features, High-Functioning ASD, Borderline Personality Disorder, OCD, Panic Disorder, just to name a few.” Doctor Rosa swallowed.
“That much I already figured.” Ashley snarled.
Doctor Rosa grinned as Ashley's frustration pleased her quite well.
