“My patience is formidable, Crais… but it is not INFINITE.”
Independent Scorpius from Farscape written by Ray
ART IS DEAD.
featuring muses from degrassi: the next generation, back to the future, saving hope, stargate: sg-1, kim possible, and more.
// Ok so-- multimuse is up @wallsofdreaming. I’ve still got a little work to do on the theme (still has a bunch of Scorpius info whoops) and a LOT of work to do on the muses page (the only muse that has more than an icon is Daniel for shame) but the bones are all there. Tomorrow I’ll focus on wrapping up the theme and getting more muse pages set up, and then I’ll be ready to roll.

“Why do you want him so badly?” “He destroyed my Gammak Base.” “Revenge? He’s not a Scarran. You wouldn’t waste your hatred on anything else.” “This is why I can’t have you around. You know me too well.” “Without me, you’d still be the same angry, hotheaded creature I took in so many cycles ago.” “Without me, your head-- among other things-- would be a trophy on the wall of Peacekeeper Command.” “See? We were made for each other.”
// The more I rewatch Natira and Scorpius the more I notice these little hints she keeps dropping that she loves him and it breaks my heart because all he does is use her and push her away.
Ur face looks like the bastard love child of a fight with a candle and the depressing cheap vampire Halloween makeup kit. B(
“By all means, continue beating that DEAD simile-- see where it takes you.”
orthopxdic:
“Believe it or not, you’re not the first to tell me that… But, you’re fighting instinct. You can’t expect to root it out completely.”
“-- Hence Peacekeeper tolerance for recreation. But to take that any further is foolhardy.”
orthopxdic:
“Maybe – but it’s a lot more fun.”
“For a doctor, your mind is remarkably primitive.”
orthopxdic:
“I think the word you’re looking for there is INCEST.….. sir.”
“Random selection of mating pairs can yield undesirable traits-- deformities, disabilities, diseases.”
“Love is IMPRACTICAL-- it produces weak offspring.”

‘ I’m warning you, why don’t you shut your filth half-breed mouth and who would ever want to take a piece of dren like you out to dinner? ’
“There’s no reason to get upset. You needn’t be so DEFENSIVE, my dear Luxan-- I’m simply trying to conduct a civil conversation. Now: will you allow me to order a drink, or would you like to bark a little more?”

theta-x:
In all honesty he should have come to expect this kind of scenario from a jaunt in the TARDIS with XI. Trouble, it seemed, followed the Doctor through every strand of his life and the impulsive younger Gallifreyan had been only too keen to partake in a little of it himself. He was, after all, very good with locked doors.
In hindsight, sneaking aboard another vessel as part of their ‘mildly exciting’ trip could have been done with more thorough scans beforehand. They had managed to get admirably far before the inevitable capture but compared to the Doctor his own courage was already failing him. This wasn’t by any means Theta’s first time off-world from Gallifrey (and neither was it his first arrest), but he had never found himself in such a directly life-threatening scenario before. Where smart remarks and threats often served him well, the unarmed youngster had found himself devoid of all speech. Keeping behind XI, eyes darting for any opportunity, he had seen no easy escape and failed to react in time when a pulse pistol pressed against his neck. He stared back at the unnerving visage of the stranger in stunned silence, mouth half-open; his only other reaction was to grimace when the Doctor so readily complied. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I’m not a bargaining chip.
At the very least they had not been shot on sight. It was enough to bolster his shaken confidence and, coupled with the thorough search, provided enough time to reassess the situation and reorganise his thoughts. Their element of surprise had been stolen and returned in kind, and the Doctor had already showed his hand insofar as his weakness went; that meant potentially bad news for himself, regardless of what he could have bluffed. As far as he could see, their best option was to find out to what extent of trouble they were in, weather the immediate consequences and escape at the first opportunity they could seize. He kept his mouth conspicuously closed for the duration of their transport, though his gaze continued to wander, taking note of every access panel, entry point and security system he could see.
By the time they were sealed in the cell, effectively left alone with the unusually-clad stranger, Theta had managed to re-inflate his ego and opted to answer first. Later he would justify it as buying the Doctor more time to think; in all honesty he just couldn’t resist blurting the first, stupid response which came to mind. “What were we thinkin’? I think the better question’d be what the hell are you thinking wearing that? I’m not being funny, okay, ‘cause I saw none of your other men wearin’ that…look…so what, is it just somethin’ you’re really into or is it a punishment or..?”
This was exactly the sort of trouble XI really did not need to get them both into, so naturally it was bound to happen. His sonic screwdriver, blaster and communication/teleportation device (in the form of a modified vortex manipulator) had been confiscated. The most potent technology they were left with were the protective anti-artron vests they wore beneath their visible layers. It was likely they would absorb the energy from a pulse weapon, indeed they were prototypes from a garment capable of withstanding the pressures of a black hole, but when it came to point-blank range and multiple sources XI was not keen on risking their lives.
At his young companion’s brash response, the Doctor grabbed his arm and clapped a hand briefly over Theta’s mouth to hush him. He did not particularly apologise for what had been said, however, dangerous as it was.
“We meant no offense on coming here. We’re explorers and technological enthusiasts. I admit our method of arrival from place to place has on occasion been perceived as impolite but I assure you, had I been aware of the best place to check in at reception, that’s where we would have parked.”
Save for an annoyed flick of his eyes, Scorpius chose to ignore the remark about his wardrobe. He’d grown well accustomed to mockery from fellow Peacekeepers-- short-sighted fools who resorted to schoolyard politics to mask their own INSECURITIES. He saw the insult for what it was: a boy who was scared and trying desperately to mask his fear.
It was ineffective, of course. They both REEKED of it.
He turned his attention to the elder of the pair instead. He seemed to be the more sensible-- if not more intelligent-- one. If there was any reasoning to be done, it would be with him. Perhaps it would even serve him to separate the two-- keep the younger stashed away as a bargaining chip to ensure the compliance of the elder. But a plan like that could easily backfire; he would test them first, see just how DESPERATE they were.
“And what gave you the impression that my command carrier was open to receiving guests?” His smooth accent grew frayed with annoyance; steely gaze locked onto the Doctor’s and refused to withdraw. “This is a military vessel operated by the Peacekeepers; the only TECHNOLOGY of interest here is weaponry. I must surmise, therefore, that your intentions are ultimately hostile and your pacifist entreaty is a facade hastily rendered in response to your capture.”
He paused, slowly turning his head to regard the younger of the pair. If they were indeed saboteurs-- a suspicion of which he was not wholly convinced-- then it was foolhardy to come aboard together with an emotional attachment. But criminals were rarely strategic in their undertakings; they were creatures of desperation, reacting to chance rather than ACTING upon it. And that was what made this situation easy to manipulate.
“Is there any reason-- any reason at all-- why I shouldn’t have both of you EXECUTED?”
getfrelled:
‘ send them out the door or we no talky. ’ he smirks gaping at the other, ‘ I’m sure we can handle a couple ole bandits if they drop by or are you doubting your skills with a pulse rifle scorpy? ’
“Fortunate as you’ve been FUMBLING your way through every situation to arise, I prefer to manage my affairs with caution and preparation. You might do well to try it yourself sometime, John. You might be surprised by its efficacy.” Nevertheless, he complies with the request-- with a gesture, his men retreat through the door. But they won’t be far.
dramatispersxnae:
“Oh, this old thing?” she said with a smirk, holding up the dusty trinket in question. She tilted her head to the side, giving it another once over – as if she never bothered to consider it before. Which, of course, wasn’t remotely true. She knew precisely the device’s value. Well, at least its monetary value… The buyer in front of her could deal with the sordid technical details himself. As long as he paid the price they’d agreed on, she’d hand it over and be on her merry way. “Well, it was rather a hassle to acquire – but fortunately for you, I’m quite good at what I do,” she added, smirk deepening. Vala slipped the device back into her pocket and tossed a lock of dark hair over her shoulder. “Now! For the matter of payment… Three-thousand was the price. And I’ll take it in cash if it’s all the same to you.”

“Certainly-- as we AGREED.” He wore the smile of a serpent as he brandished the currency in question. He rarely saw fit to haggle with common criminals like Vala Mal Doran. In the event that they became difficult, he’d found that Braca’s fists could be incredibly persuasive. Or-- if the criminal in question was of no use to him-- a pulse pistol was a very effective means of ensuring that his investment was returned in FULL.
Vala, however, had proven to be resourceful. Her methods were sloppy, but he couldn’t argue with her results. It was a relationship worth FOSTERING; and if she just so happened to bring bad blood to his doorstep, his mercy could easily be revoked.

“Braca.” Though his voice was always smooth as silk, there was something in its edge that spoke of irritation. “Why is there a bush affixed to the doorway?”
Braca hesitated, carefully schooling his gaze to avoid Scorpius on its way up. As he stared at the mistletoe overhead, the line of his throat bobbed with a hard swallow. He knew better than to embellish the TRUTH with Scorpius– it was part of the reason the hybrid liked him so much.
“It’s a tradition some of the men picked up the last time we put into port. A KISSING game. Couples caught under the plant are supposed to--” he faltered as his gaze fell and caught Scorpius’s eye. “Kiss...”
Microts passed as Scorpius digested that information. It was wildly inappropriate for a command carrier-- Peacekeepers preoccupied with recreational traditions might easily neglect their duties. He could appreciate the value of good MORALE among the crew, but this was a step too far.
And Braca was still nervous-- much moreso than usual. Surely he didn’t expect Scorpius to participate in this absurd ritual?
... Yet he found himself considering it anyway. He enjoyed Braca’s company as well as anyone’s, and more than once he’d entertained the thought of punishing him. In a way that he might ENJOY, of course, as a reward for all of his good work.
Pointless. Braca needed so little in the way of reward-- yet another of his many virtues.
“Take it down.” When at last Scorpius spoke, it was SOFT-- dangerously so. “I don’t want to see it on this ship again.”

“What makes you think I want your FEAR?” He casts a wry smile in her direction; he knows she’s lying. “I don’t care to intimidate-- and I certainly have no egotistical need for it.”
