Advice??

I have come into some interest in joining my local roller derby team. I have no equipment whatsoever and it's been years since ive been able to make time or money to go skating. But i really want to invest myself in something and roller derby caught my attention. I was obsessed with skating as a kid and i crab the rink now and then. Ive been trying to get in contact so I can volunteer and be there and see it all in front of me. Can anyone help a girl out with advice on how to prepare myself foe qhen it comes time for booty camp? Ive been reading up on rules and guidelines. I dont want to let this fire go out just because I feel unprepared. I want to be completely invested in this.
