our couple ৎ𝄢 scott miller x f!reader
ৎ𝄢 In which, you and Scott get married.
authors note ! I haven’t been able to get the way David looked out of my head since I watched him at the premiere. The sunglasses and gum.. that’s literally Scott. And then the suit.. that’s Scott but HUSBAND.
I do hope you enjoy this short drabble! I haven’t written in a bit, so it’s all I could do for now <3
p.s. If there are any sort of grammar mistakes, just pretend they don’t exist. I wrote this on my notes app, copy and pasted it onto here, and just let her go.
You have always imagined your wedding day being loud.
A hundred things happening at once. People running around. Someone forgetting something important. Everyone talking over each other.
And that’s exactly what it was.
There were makeup brushes everywhere, someone’s shoes were sitting in the middle of the floor, and you were pretty sure your phone had been ringing nonstop for the last twenty minutes.
But somehow, through all of it, you felt weirdly calm.
You stared at yourself in the mirror, barely recognizing the person looking back.
Today was the day you were marrying Scott.
You smiled a little at the thought.
The same guy who could stay calm while facing Tornadoes, but somehow got nervous over the smallest things when it came to you.
You still remembered when he proposed.
He had this whole thing planned out, and he acted like he was completely relaxed.
He wasn’t - Not even close.
He kept checking if you were happy. Asking if everything was okay. Making sure you weren’t suspicious.
Which, of course, made you extremely suspicious.
You laughed quietly to yourself.
“Everything okay in there?” Your best friend called from outside.
You looked toward the door.
A second later, there was a pause.
A laugh came from the other side. “He says he knows he’s not supposed to see you. He just wants to talk.”
You walked toward the door, shaking your head.
Of course Scott would be the one person who couldn’t wait.
“You’re not supposed to be here,” you said.
“I know.” His voice immediately made you smile. “I was just making sure you’re okay.”
You leaned against the door, “Scott.”
Then you heard him let out a laugh, “maybe a little.”
You smiled. And even though he couldn’t see you, you knew he was smiling too.
For a few seconds, neither of you said anything.
The kind of silence you only have with someone you’re completely yourself around.
“I just wanted a minute with you.”
Your expression softened.
He took a breath, “I don’t know.”
“Guess I just woke up today and it hit me.”
“That this is actually happening.”
You looked down at your ring, “yeah.”
“I mean… I knew it was happening.”
“Well that’s good to know.”
“You’re doing great, darling.”
“Thanks. Really helping.”
Then his voice got quieter.
“I just don’t want to mess this up.”
Your smile faded slightly. Scott was confident with almost everything, so seeing him nervous made you nervous.
When the doors opened and you finally saw him, everything else disappeared.
Scott looked like he was trying really hard not to look overwhelmed. He was standing there, smiling, but you could tell.
When you reached him, he leaned closer. “You look…”
You raised an eyebrow, “careful.”
“I was gonna say beautiful.”
The ceremony felt like it passed too quickly. You tried to remember every little thing. The way his hand held yours.
The way he looked at you when he said his vows. The way his voice got quieter when he talked about your future.
“Okay,” he said, like he was talking more to himself than anyone else.
A few people in the crowd laughed softly, but it wasn’t loud or distracting. It just made the moment feel more real. But Scott didn’t care. He stared at you, blue eyes locked onto yours.
“I didn’t really plan on saying anything fancy,” he started. “So if this comes out kind of messy… that’s why.”
You smiled a little, squeezing his hand.
“That’s kind of your thing anyway,” he added, trying to ease the nerves with a joke.
He took a breath, slower this time.
“Okay,” he said again, quieter. His thumb brushed over your knuckles like he didn’t even realize he was doing it.
“I didn’t really think I’d be good at this part,” he admitted. “Talking in front of everyone. Saying the right thing. All of that.”
A small, almost self-conscious smile tugged at his mouth. “But then I realized… it’s not really about saying it right.”
He looked at you properly now. Not scanning the room. Not overthinking. Just looking.
“It’s just about telling the truth, I guess.”
“And the truth is… I don’t really remember what it felt like before you. Like, I do, but it doesn’t feel important anymore.” A pause. He let that sit for a second, like he was careful with it.
“You came into my life and somehow made everything feel… less loud. Like I can just stop and breathe for a second and that’s enough.”
His grip on your hand tightened slightly, almost unconsciously. “And I don’t think I ever really understood what people meant when they said someone feels like home.”
A faint smile crossed his face.
He shook his head a little, like he was still surprised by his own words.
“Because it’s not this big dramatic thing. It’s not fireworks or anything like that.”
He glanced at you, softer.
“It’s just you. Being there. And suddenly everything makes sense in a way I can’t really explain.”
His voice dipped lower, more honest than anything else he’d said. “I know I’m not perfect. I get in my own head. I’m away from home a lot. I mess things up sometimes without even meaning to.”
A small, almost embarrassed laugh.
“You already know that though.”
That got a few gentle smiles from the crowd.
“But you never made me feel like that made me any less worth staying for.”
He swallowed, then let out a quiet breath.
“So I guess what I’m trying to say is… I don’t want a version of life where you’re not in it.”
“I don’t want to imagine it, even.” His eyes stayed on you, steady now. “I just want you. All of it. The good days, the bad ones, the quiet ones in between.”
A small, almost crooked smile, “and I’m not promising I’ll get everything right. I probably won’t.”
A few people laughed lightly again.
“But I am promising I’ll show up. Every time. For you.” His voice softened at the end.
For a moment, he didn’t say anything else.
He just looked at you like that was everything he needed to say.
Then, almost quietly, like it belonged only to you, “okay… I think that’s it.” And that made you giggle with tears in your eyes.
“I know I’m not perfect,” he continued, smiling slightly.
You whispered, “Definitely not.”
“You’re really supportive on our wedding day.”
Then his expression softened, “I love you more than I know how to explain.”
Your hand tightened around his, and Scott let out a quiet breath, his shoulders easing like he’d finally said what he needed to say.
A small smile pulled at his mouth, soft and a little overwhelmed, “I’ll forever love you, sweetheart.”
author’s note (again) ! I’ll be 100% honest, I’m not really happy with this, but I love David and I’m mourning the fact that he can’t be mine, so this is the best I could do for now
