To all members of the Ton, Her Majesty The Queen, Minerva McGonagall, cordially requests the pleasure of your company at Buckingham House on the evening of the 12th of March for the opening ball of the 1811 London Season. As is tradition, those entering society shall be formally presented before Court prior to the commencement of the ball. Guests are thereafter invited to enjoy an evening of dancing, music, and refreshments as London gathers for the start of a brand new social season. Her Majesty looks forward to welcoming you all. Buckingham House shines beneath the glow of candlelight and chandeliers as members of society gather for the most anticipated event of the spring. Debutantes make their introductions as ambitious mothers survey the crowd and old friends reunite after months spent apart in the country. Every dance offers opportunity, just as every conversation and glance carries the potential to become tomorrow’s gossip.

Somewhere within the crowd, Lady Chrysalis watches with a keen eye. Her quill is ready, rumors are spreading, and before the evening is through, she will decide who shall be named the Diamond of the Season. Whether that distinction brings admiration, envy, or unwanted attention remains to be seen. One thing, however, is certain: by morning, all of London shall have something to discuss.

DATES: The event will run from June 18 at 12:00 a.m. EST to June 28 at 11:59 p.m. EST.

DRESS CODE: Muses should adhere to formal court dress and evening attire. Members may post outfit graphics in the designated thread in our discord.

GOSSIP: Following the event, Lady Chrysalis will publish her first column of the Season, naming the Diamond and reporting on the event’s most notable scandals, romances, rivalries, and other observations. Members are encouraged to submit rumors, gossip, and noteworthy moments occurring throughout the event in ⁠the #hearsay channel in our discord to be included in Lady Chrysalis' first column!

THE DIAMOND: All muses participating in the Season are eligible for consideration as the Diamond, regardless of gender, title, or what number season they're on.

PARTICIPATION: All muses are welcome to participate, including nobles, gentry, commoners, servants accompanying their employers (or sneaking in under disguise!), and other members of London society. Even those who are not formally participating in the Season are likely to find themselves caught up in the evening’s festivities. Interactions need not be limited to the ballroom itself, but can also occur in the gardens, corridors, refreshment rooms, terraces, and other palace locations.

hello, love ! yes, we're still here. we've hit a slow period while people juggle things like finals, end-of-school-year obligations, and the start of summer vacation, but we're currently preparing our first event to kick off the season & our first interest check is this thursday, so it's actually a great time to join if you're interested ! as a sandbox-style group, we expect our pace to be slower by nature since most interactions happen through letters and threads rather than quick texts. while things have been quieter recently, we still have members active ooc and the group is very much ongoing. we're looking forward to getting things moving again as summer settles in and would love to have you with us !

moving forward do you plan on having set acceptance days, or will you be accepting muses on a rolling basis?

we're so glad you asked ! we just posted an announcement in our server & updated our blog to reflect this — from now on, ooc applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, while character acceptances will occur in the server every monday, wednesday, and friday. our first activity check will also take place on june 11, with checks taking place every other week thereafter.

Do you accept OC's?

hi love, thanks for the question ! we do not accept ocs; we do, however, accept semi-canon characters, which refers to any muse created from existing canon lore. for example, if someone plays penelope clearwater and decides she has parents or siblings who are never mentioned in canon, those family members would be considered semi-canon. you'll find a few examples of these types in our lore docs. the admins came to this decision as we feel there are so many underdeveloped canon muses and families in the hp universe that we'd love to see people put their own spin on. whether it's a character who only has a surname or a single line in the books, there's lots of room for creativity while still remaining connected to the existing world. this spreadsheet is a wonderful guide for finding lesser-known characters, but please let us know if you'd like any guidance !

Do family fc’s need to match?

yes, faceclaims should match the ethnicity of the family they're apart of. exceptions would only occur in cases of adoption or other non-biological familial connections — for example, the adopted member of madoc weasley's household can be any ethnicity, as they are not blood-related to the weasleys.

Can we bring characters back to life like Cedric?

absolutely ! this group is a canon-divergent regency era au, so characters aren't bound to their original narratives or fates at all. cedric wouldn't be brought back to life so much as he simply never died in this universe and would instead have an entirely different backstory / history. you can read more about our lore here. i hope this helps !
