From the moment you came into my life, a deep and unbreakable bond formed between us. You reached for me with those tiny hands and claimed my heart forever. Every “Dada,” every cuddle, every time you run to me with arms wide open reminds me how lucky I am to be your father. You are my greatest joy, my brightest light, and the reason my heart feels so full. Of course, we’ve officially entered the terrible twos, that magical phase where you test every limit with fierce determination and irresistible charm. Even your stubborn moments make me smile, because they’re all part of you becoming the wonderful little person you are. You are the funniest and best little sister Mary could ever ask for. The way you make her laugh, copy her every move, and light up when she plays with you fills our home with so much joy. You two are already the best of friends, and I love watching your sisterly bond grow every single day. I promise to always try my very best to get your outfits right. I promise to keep learning every little thing that makes you smile, to listen carefully when you tell me what you like, and to never stop trying to be the dad you deserve. I will make mistakes, but I will always choose you, always show up for you, and always love you with everything I am. Thank you for choosing me as your dad. Acknowledging that “critical thinking” means “thinking about things in a thorough way from different perspectives” and not “finding every flaw in a thing and fixating on it until all the joy is gone” is so liberating.

It’s supposed to be about intellectual curiosity, not about finding ways to devalue things that aren’t perfect or that we personally dislike.
