HE SPITS THE WORDS, practiced and perfected, at this flamboyant sentinel — watches with a VISCERAL satisfaction as the diplomat’s face drops at his declaration. GOOD WILL versus GOOD RIDDANCE: the eclipsing hatred of one carrying the weight of scars and skeletons and chains on his shoulders. ATLAS averts his eyes in shame at this new colossus. But he has spoken his piece; fingers remain wrapped around a metal throat, carving dents into the surface as the sample of HUMAN FRAILTY sputters his noise. He hefts a FIST, curling loosely —

he hears it before he sees it. A particularly brutal wound, still weeping lifeblood to the rubble, CATALYZING acoustic acuity. The pain bleeds away into SOUND, advertising human goods and the rhythms of society and the positioning of a WELL-AIMED TOY. This world around him, the one that has taken all that he was: it may be SOUND, but he shall be FURY. The thing below him telegraphs so blatantly, so unabashedly, the attack may as well have belonged to an infant. Where the Kree hails, their weapons are SILENT and their methods BLINDING. 

Noh-Varr is in his rage, and he will not be forced into PACIFISITY. He stands, looming over the smear of gold and red (soon to be only red) and kicks it onto its front, fingers reaching to pry the metal spine from this COWARD’S CARAPACE.

 STAGNANT  AMONG  THE  STARS .    fast  ,   but   not   near   fast   enough  .         the   destinations   were     wonders     but   the   travel   was     draining  .        impatience    springs   in   one   of   his   legs    &    the   tap   of   his   heel   against   the   ship’s   floor   sounds   out   a   rapid   patter  .        he   must’ve   been   sitting   for   hours   now  !           a   glance   downwards   at   his   phone  .        IT’S   BEEN   TEN   MINUTES  .        a   flourish   of   wind    &    he’s   standing   now   on   one   side   of   the   room  .       another   comes   a   few   seconds   later    &    he’s   on   the   opposite   side  .        PACING   LIKE   A   CAGED   ANIMAL  .        the   uncomfortable   feeling   of   containment   washes   over   him    &    he   makes   quick   work   to     swallow     it  .         he   looks   to   his   company   at   the   craft’s   controls  .         one   moment   the   ship   is   all   noh   has   in   front   of   him   then  ,   by   the   next  ,   there’s   a   speedster   sitting   across   his   lap  .                   ❝        hey    ——    how   much   longer   ‘til   we   get     …     y’know  ,   somewhere   ?         ❞

THERE IS PEACE, out here, in the deep blackness and solitude of space. It’s FAMILIAR, if not comforting. Sitting at the pilot’s console, he’s been adjusting their course with lazy fingers — a hand on the wheel but his mind on the STARS. The buzzing in the background had been simply that: in the background. Cheek in palm, propped up with an elbow on the armrest, his eyebrows RAISE in the slightest fashion when his turns from the inky black of space to the lines of a soft stomach. 

HANDS falling, absently, to the slender waist supplied for him, Noh leans back in his captain’s chair. ❝ Tom-my.❞  he greets, lip quirked, accent TWISTING the syllables. One of those hands keeping a firm grip on the speedster’s side, he leans forward to adjust the hologram, effectively TRAPPING his companion against the flat of the control panel. He waits — long enough to program their course, feel Tommy’s caged pulse stumble — a moment before returning to his previous posture. ❝ The wait would be shorter, if you occupied yourself.❞  tapping his forefinger on the JUT of Tommy’s hip, he stares him down. ❝ I could provide DISTRACTION.❞
