I think one of my favourite things about Deltarune chapter 5 that I don't see anyone talk about often is the way Blue pulled Yellow out of an OCD spiral. He doesn't go about it like Ralsei and Susie, trying to reassure him that he's a good person or explaining that they tricked him etc, which, as people dealing with OCD knows, would sometimes make things worse.

Transcript:

"Blue, don't waste your words on me. I'm a criminell."

"What did you do?"

"I don't know."

"Oh, get out of there. You poor thing." (proceeds to walk over and casually lift the prison bars with the strength of fucking Heracles) "There there, Yellow..."

"Ahh, Blue, what're ya doin!? You're helping a criminell!! They're gonna arrest you too!"

"Who? Who put you in there?"

"...me."

"Would you arrest me, Yellow?"

"Never."

"So, who made you feel this way?"

Calmly talking to him! Asking him questions that let him shift his focus and come back to the present!

I know it's a very small moment and his meltdown was played for laughs, but as someone who deals with severe OCD, Blue did an amazing job helping him handle it. If this is intentional, props to Toby Fox for showing good OCD management!

Expiration Date is so silly until you realise everyone genuinely thought they had less than 3 days to live and were still involved in some way with helping Scout get a date. It wasn't just Spy (who made the most sense in wanting to help Scout)- Pyro, Demo and Sniper were seen in his training montage acting as waiter and musicians respectively for his dinner etiquette lessons.

Even Soldier was invested enough he took a break from nonstop teleporting bread (which he made his life's mission by the way) to cheer Scout on through the surveillance cameras, alongside Demoman.

Only Heavy, Engineer and Medic were not seen participating, and the latter two were busy figuring out a cure. Archimedes was used as a backdrop for the date, though, and I can only assume Medic lent him to Scout. He cares too much about his birds, I don't think Scout would have gotten away with stealing him.

They may find Scout annoying but they were all still family in the end.
