( SISTER DEAREST. ♡ // schneetxt )
As the receptionist returned wide eyed, Winter could feel her heart take off. Clearly Weiss had given the okay, which left one thing:
How was she going to react?
Hardly one to get nervous, she felt her hands start to sweat a tiny bit. Though, she wasn’t really surprised that her little sister had gotten herself into the modeling business. She always had the spotlight as a child, and most certainly had the looks to succeed. Pursing her lips, she followed the woman to Weiss’ quarters.
The receptionist opened the door, giving her the green light to enter. She doesnt stay too long, just enough to close the door behind her. Standing before her, was her Weiss. Her Weiss. No tricks, no strings, just her baby sister. For the first time in a long while, she felt a lump in her throat. As Weiss’ arms wrapped around her, Winter found it almost impossible to move. A rainbow of emotion coursed through her veins, all ranging from relief, all the way to an intense need to correct her on how to properly address her.
SHE FEELS OVERWHELMING EMOTION BLOSSOM within as she feels winter’s arms wrap around her, completing the embrace. she feels safe encased in her sister’s embrace ; a security only winter could ever provide. the circumstances surrounding winter’s arrival ─ and the knowledge in the back of her mind that winter would be TRAPPED here, too ─ aren’t enough to derail weiss’s pure joy in seeing someone that means so much after so long. she can’t really tell how long the moment lasts and, quite frankly, doesn’t care. the moment could last the rest of the day and weiss would feel just as content from start to finish.
but all good things end, and the same holds true here. the embrace finally breaks and weiss takes a slight step back, squaring her shoulders and straightening out her back in order to regain some proper posture. any other time, she MAY have been more mindful of how she presented herself, but... the moment was simply too precious for weiss to care. she gazes up at winter as she finally speaks, explaining what she could... it has weiss recalling how she felt upon arriving. confusion, disbelief, loneliness... and in that moment, she made a mental oath to NOT let winter have that same experience.
she listens to winter speak of home and a sudden sadness sweeps over her. of course winter wouldn’t know the full details of the battle for the relic. of COURSE the only thing winter knew about was her being forced home. there wasn’t any way father would let anyone know of her disappearance, and she can’t imagine anyone had seen what went on inside the academy that night. her gaze falters just thinking about it.
❝ i see... ❞ she muses, allowing herself time to take it all in. atlas... falling? despite her personal issues with the place, she can’t help but fret for the safety of it’s citizens, and the safety of remnant in general. ❝ unfortunately, there’s still a lot about this place i don’t understand. frustrating, i know! ❞ she scoffs a bit. winter’s touch, though, helps lifts her spirits back up just a bit.
❝ er, about that... ❞ she flushes, thinking back to the night she made her escape. how would winter feel...? ❝ oh winter, it was horrible! father got angry, named whitley the heir, and threatened to keep me locked away! so... i left. i just COULDN’T stay. i took what i could, and i went to find you... but you had already left mistral by the time i got there. i met up with my team, and there may have been an incident regarding the relic there... and after all that, i ended up here. alone. ❞ oh, so much to explain... her emotions are a whir, but at least there’s one thing weiss is sure of.
❝ i’m just really, REALLY happy to see you here. it’s been so long winter, i... i missed you so much. i wasn’t sure if i... ❞ she pauses, gaze falling once more. she can hold it in no longer ─ a single tear forms at the corner of her eye. ❝ i wasn’t sure if i’d ever see you again. ❞
