Geralt x Reader. Reader has a major anxiety attack. Geralt is trying to calm them down. They end up passing out in his arms. Their skin is pale n clammy. Their pulse is fast (due to them hyperventilating). He checks their breathing/pulse while they're unconscious. He puts them in bed and waits for them to wake up. Once they wake up, he comforts them?? THANK YOU. If you don't feel comfortable doing this request, no biggie. I'm excited to see more of your writing. I'm rambling now, imma stop 🥺🥰

CW: description of an anxiety attack, toxic thoughts
Geralt didn't knew if he was lucky or unlucky to always have company. It was either the bard, Jaskier, who accompanied him or (Y/N) who followed him on the path. It was like he was cursed with always having a human at his side. Jaskier and his way had parted a few months ago and not much later his path has crossed (Y/N)'s again.
The Witcher didn't knew how he ended up with (Y/N), but he have to admit that he enjoyed the company. Not just on the road. There were times when he counted the days until he would see his better half again. He cared a lot about the well-being of them, but he would never voice his feelings out aloud. (Y/N) didn't minded it yet.
It was a quiet day, both of them walking next to Roach. Enjoying the comfortable silence around them. At least it was comfortable for Geralt.
(Y/N)'s mind was racing. It had been too long since they traveled together.
He probably got tired of me. Why wouldn't he? I was just a dumb noisy human who wasted his time. No wonder he avoided me for so long.
It wasn't the first time (Y/N) had these thoughts. But it was the first time having them around Geralt. Usually his presence was all that could keep these toxic thoughts out of the mind. But it didn't work this time. They had been apart for too long and the stories that had been told about Geralt had spread over the continent. He had been fine all this time on his own or together with Jaskier. He didn't needed (Y/N) at all.
He didn't needed me. No one would ever need me. I can't blame him. I couldn't give him what he wanted, so why would he bother with me?
(Y/N) opened the first buttons of the doublet. There was something invisible wrapping their fingers around the throat, making it impossible to breath. (Y/N) stroke over their throat to make sure there was nothing around their neck that could cause the troubles of breathing. But there was nothing that could be a bother. Still it felt like someone was choking them. Every breath was forced and their throat when just tighter and tighter. And if that wasn't enough, their heart is racing so fast in the chest like it would jump out every time.
(Y/N)'s breathing became shorter, not being able to stop the hyperventilating. They was trapped in their thoughts.
You're worthless. You will never be enough. People just pretend that they like you. They are just being nice. You will always be alone. Geralt doesn't like you at all.
(Y/N) felt a hand on their shoulder and another one on their cheek. Geralt was looking at them worried. Stroking with his thumb over the soft cheek to remove the tear.
"(Y/N), what's wrong?" Geralt spoke softly. He didn't knew what was wrong with them and he also didn't knew exactly what he should do. Was they sick? Or did a spell lay over them? But he hasn't noticed any magic on his companion.
(Y/N) didn't look at Geralt. They felt sick to their stomach and their head was spinning. Breathing to fast and not nearly deep enough to get the much needed oxygen. Geralt could smell the fear radiating from (Y/N) and it made his stomach turn. They had never smelled like that before. Not even when they first met. The (H/C) haired had always smelled like a warm summer day. Like fresh grass after a rain shower, a little bit flowery. Geralt always had loved the scent. But now his companion smelled like rotten leaves, the anxiety was clinging hard to his better half.
All he could do was watching them how they lost consciousness and fell in his arms.
Geralt had took (Y/N) to the next inn to take care of them. Luckily he had enough coin to afford a room for them. He didn't wanted to sleep outside. Geralt had laid (Y/N) on the bed and covered them with the blanket. They still hasn't woken up yet. Geralt was holding the smaller hand in his own, feeling their pulse under his fingertips. His eyes were darted to the chest which was falling and rising. Sure he could hear (Y/N)'s breathing and even the heartbeat. But he needed to feel and see. He needed to make sure they was alright.
After a few hours (Y/N) woke up. The first thing they noticed was the comfort of a bed and second thing was the hand which was holding theirs. They opened their eyes and saw Geralt sitting next to them. He wore comfortable clothes, his armour was put aside. His hair was loose and he looked exhausted.
"(Y/N)." Geralt said softly, stroking over their cheek gently.
"I feel like you look." They said smiling weakly which made Geralt laugh.
"Sounds like you're better." Geralt leaned in closer, cupped (Y/N)'s cheeks and kissed them gently. They were a little bit surprised but returned the kiss. Geralt didn't rush like he usually would do. He wrapped his arms around them, closed the distance and kept the kiss soft and gentle. Geralt still didn't knew why (Y/N) had been so afraid, but he would make sure to make them feel safe and happy. He never wanted to smell that fear again.
They parted to catch their breath. Geralt leaned his forehead against theirs and rubbed his nose gently against (Y/N)'s.
"You wanna eat something or take a bath?" Geralt asked stroking through their hair.
"Not now. Can you kiss me again?" The witcher pulled them on his lap and holding (Y/N) close before he kissed them again. Soft and gentle. He just wanted them to feel loved and appreciated.
"I missed you, (Y/N). I would like if you stay with me." They looked at Geralt with big eyes. Not believing what they heard.
"What did you say?" Geralt took their hands in his own and smiled gently.
"Stay with me. I love you too much to be without you."
"Hmmm." (Y/N) smiled bright and kissed Geralt with all the love they felt for him.
He loves me. He always did. He always will. That's all that matters.
"I love you too. So please stay with me as well."
