hERE HE COMES TO JOIN THE BATTLE
@classicpals
The sun was high above the sky as the new morning welcomed itself. Guide had watched the sunrise since it started, something he didn’t see himself getting tired of anytime soon. Without having the need to sleep, there was plenty of time to admire the changing of the planet’s atmosphere.
When the sky was nice and blue, he came back inside, expecting to see the other Sonic awake at his usual hour. To his surprise, the main room was empty. Curious... he didn’t remember seeing him on his way back. Was he still sleeping? It was always a possibility-- albiet an unusual one--, but it wouldn’t hurt to check up on him.
Guide quietly entered the room, not knowing if he was sleeping. He looked up at the top bunk and was barely able to see the tips of his quills. It was hard to tell if he was actually asleep or if he was just lying down, especially from the angle he was at. Guide decided to climb up the ladder to where Sonic rested, seeing him with eyes closed, under a blanket, and lying comfortably in bed. Yep. He was sleeping alright.
Guide reached out his hand to wake him up, but quickly drew it back as Sonic started to shift underneath the blanket. Guide percieved this as him starting to wake up, but his eyes weren’t opening. The tossing and turning seemed to increase, but still no signs of waking up. Guide watched hesitently as Sonic’s face was starting to show hints of mild distress.
Was...Was this normal during “sleep”? Was Sonic trying to wake up, but physically unable to?Was he going to be lost in sleep forever if Guide didn’t wake him up now? He wasn’t sure what was happening, but he could tell that something was wrong.
“Sonic?” His translater spoke. The sound of his voice wasn’t enough to wake him up. Guide was less confused and more worried about the sleeping hedgehog. Without thinking, he reached his hands towards Sonic and attempted to gently shake him awake. He was uncertain if waking him up in this state would cause him more distress, but Guide didnt want to risk possibly leaving Sonic locked in sleep mode. “I think you’re oversleeping... Please wake up.”
classicpals:
[💎] Fear was painted as clear as day on the blue hedgehog’s face and it only caused the smirk to widen. He took great joy in that fact. Striking the upmost terror was always so rewarding to him. That and their pain, their suffering, their deaths. He had every right to be terrified of him. It appeared as though he was finally beginning to understand just what a threat he was and what he had gotten himself into.
Too bad for him it came all too late.
He watched as Sonic curled up into a ball, a thing he was well known for, before he sped off, dashing away at high speeds. He didn’t want to play their little game it would seem. He was trying to escape. What a fool he was. There was no getting away from him.
Super Sonic watched him go for a few moments, deciding to humor his prey a bit. He could easily catch him but what would the fun in that be? He wanted to give him that small bit of hope before he crushed it into dust, grinding it into the ground.
Once he waited as long as he wished, he zipped off at blinding speeds, the world a blur of colors and a golden streak trail was left behind him as he flew through the sky. He easily caught up with the other hedgehog, stopping in front of him as the blue ball raced his way.
He waited until he was close enough before he lashed out at Sonic, kicking him up into the sky before he flew above him. With a smirk, Super Sonic brought his foot back down with great force behind it, kicking him back onto the ground.
Him curling into a ball wasn’t the brightest thing for him to do. He was like a little blue kickball and he was treated as such. What would he do now? The super hedgehog decided to wait and see before he continued his fun. After all, he didn’t want it to end too soon.
As Sonic rolled away, thoughts raced through his mind as fast as he was speeding. He had to go find Tails and his Sonic to warn them about the super hedgehog. He wouldn’t want them getting into trouble with him. Sonic was grateful that he was able to make a clean getaway.
Or so he thought.
Just as Sonic thought he was in the clear, he felt the swift kick of the other’s foot sending him skyrocketing through the air. There was no time to release his spherical form before the second attack came crashing down. Sonic was hurtling towards the surface like a blue meteor, impacting the ground with force strong enough to form a crater.
As soon as the dust cleared away, Sonic was left lying in the dirt with his eyes shut tight, half curled up on his side. The wind had been knocked out of the little hedgehog, leaving his breathing to be shaky and weak. The two focal points of his pain had been in the back of his head and his spine, but he could feel it through his whole body. If it weren’t for those quills, he could’ve been way more hurt than he already was.
He wanted nothing more than to be able to scream, but he was limited to that little metal device on his neck. Sonic attempted to lift himself up, only to feel a twinge in his shoulder as he did so.
It was made clear that “flight” was no longer an option. If he wanted to save himself, Sonic had to at least try to fight his counterpart. He had to push through the pain and stand up to this bully. Eyebrows furrowing, he pushed himself off the ground, shakily getting back up on his feet. If Sonic had to fight for survival, then that’s exactly what he was going to do.
Staring up at his newfound foe, there was a new fire behind Sonic’s eyes. The moment his counterpart got close enough, he leaped up and attempted to land a punch in the face.
lmao what if i made a tag dump
classicpals:
[💎] He smirked as he watched the other hedgehog pull back his hand, nursing it even though he hadn’t done anything but slap it away. If he was this weak, he’d die too fast, too soon for his liking. If he was a Sonic, expected much more than this.
He scowled. He really didn’t know who he was? Surprising. He would have guessed his host or Tails would tell Spikeball here about him. He supposed not his vessel since he blacked out whenever he took over, but he would have thought the bratty fox would tell him about how much of a danger he was. Perhaps it had slipped their minds. But what did it matter? He was in for the surprise of his life.
The super hedgehog floated down to him, nose to nose with the other rodent. “I’m about to become your worst nightmare, Spikeball.”
Oh. Friendship was definitely off the table then. Sonic was startled, throwing his hands back when he suddenly found himself nose to nose with the yellow ball of fury. If it wasn’t obvious before that this hedgehog wanted to pick a fight, it sure was now. He couldn’t understand; what was his problem? Despite the stock-still smile, it was easy to see the fear in his shrunken pupils, especially up close.
He was petrified. He couldn’t think. Should he have run? Or would it have been like running from a speeding bullet? What could he do? Sonic’s been bound to that old schoolhouse for years; fighting serious battles was something completely foreign to him. It was his choice between fight or flight. ‘Spikeball...’ He could spin-dash! Spin-dash his way out of this situation!
“Uh, maybe some other time!”
With that, Sonic took off in the opposite direction, faster than he’d ever had to dash before.
classicpals:
[💎] The golden hedgehog stared down at his counterpart. He floated in silence, watching him. Waiting. What was he going to do? He watched him take a few steps away from him. Was he going to run from him? It would do him little good if he tried that. But he’d humor him if he did.
But he did something he wasn’t expecting. The blue hedgehog held out a hand to him, offering his friendship with an innocent smile on his face. Though it never did go away, did it?
Super Sonic reached out a clawed gloved hand towards the speedster, before he roughly slapped it away with a sneer after a moments pause. “You really don’t know who you’re dealing with, do ya, Spikeball? I almost feel sorry for you. Almost.”
There was a very brief moment of hope when Super Sonic reached for his hand, only to have it diminished as he slapped it away. He swiped his hand away and held it in his other, attempting to relieve the harsh sting. It seemed this Sonic had some violent tendencies. Was Super Sonic someone that was well recognized on this planet? Is that why he expected Sonic to know who he was “dealing with”?
With this newfound hostility towards him, Sonic was beginning to second-guess this whole idea of befriending him. Regardless, he was at least going to be civil about it. He took notice of the recurring nickname of “Spikeball”. Guess the name “Guide” wasn’t good enough for him. Rude. It was better than being called a rat, he supposed.
“Hey, there’s no need to get violent!” Sonic said, “Don’t take it personally! I’ve only been on Mobius for a short time. I don’t know much about anyone here! I mean, besides Sonic and Tails, but never a ‘Super Sonic’. Sorry to disappoint.”
classicpals:
[💎] The super powered hedgehog leered down at the other rodent below him. He knew who this was. This was that other Sonic that his host had saved from that tripy schoolhouse awhile ago. The look of amazement on the blue rat’s face was amusing to him. The look of terror was a priceless bonus. This would be fun, perhaps too much so.
A laugh burst from Super Sonic at Sonic’s comment. Did the other hedgehog think he was his host? Oh, the poor fool. Did he have no idea who he was? Who was even dealing with? Chaos, the double of his host was in for quite the surprise. He was going to have way too much fun messing with him. Perhaps even killing him, who knew what he’d decide to do.
Hopefully he’d prove to be a good challenge to him. A good fighter, someone to test his skills and beat his blue ass into the ground. He might not have been able to do that to his vessel, but nothing was stopping him from doing that to this Sonic.
“Sonic? He’s not here right now, may I take a message?” Super Sonic mocked him, pointy teeth flashing as he grinned. “I’m not that blue rat. I’m Super Sonic!”
Sonic was left confused at the sudden burst of laughter. It wasn’t an unfair assumption to make, as far as he knew. After all, they were just meeting for the first time. There was no way for him to know who he was yet, let alone that he was another variation of Sonic. He furrowed an eyebrow at the “blue rat” comment, not sure whether to take it as an insult or just plain ignorance. Either way, the yellow one had it all wrong.
Sonic found himself instinctively taking a few steps backward. He wanted to trust his gut and run the opposite direction, but he couldn’t find it in him to do it. Based on the way the other one introduced himself, he was just another version of Sonic. A Sonic that may or may not have belonged in this world. Perhaps one that felt lost... someone like him?
Sonic thought back to that conversation he had with Tails a while ago, back when they’d only just met. Tails was willing to call him a friend, despite not being from the same world. All because he was a fellow Sonic. If Tails could give him a chance at friendship, he could do the same for Super Sonic. Even if he looked evil on the outside, and sounded even more so, he couldn’t have been all bad if he was like Sonic. Besides, fellow Sonics should stick together, right?
“We’re actually not rats, we’re hedgehogs,” Sonic clarified, “Just like you! ...You’re a Sonic too, y’know?” Sonic extended his hand out to his floating counterpart as an offer to shake hands. “But, to avoid confusion between us, you can call me Guide!”
[💎] “Hey, Spikeball! You look like you’ve never seen a super hedgehog before!”
@schoolhedge
“I...” Sonic spoke through his translation device. He observed the mysterious hedgehog in front of him, wondering who he could be. He looked vaguely like Sonic if he were yellow. Another key difference was that this one was able to talk. This wouldn’t be so concerning if his tone of voice wasn’t so demonic.
Based on the knowledge he was coded with, this hedgehog could’ve been Mobius’ Sonic turned “super”. He knew that Sonic was supposed to turn yellow and powerful when he was near the “Chaos Emeralds,” but he had no memory of turning super himself. He hadn’t even seen this world’s Sonic turn super yet. The swirling red eyes and the sudden voice both could’ve just been perks from having the power of Chaos on his side. Sonic was both amazed and frightened at the sight of such raw power.
“Is... Is that you, Sonic?”
classicpals:
[💎] “Ah, no, you’re my friend too. You’re a Sonic too y’know?”
Tails didn’t want to even hear this Sonic not consider him a friend. No matter what Sonic he met, he’d always be a friend and brother to. Regardless if they were older, younger, from a video game, didn’t matter to the little fox at all.
He listened silently as the hedgehog explained to him what else he knew. His ears perked up in surprise upon hearing that he had a Robotnik in his world too. Only instead of trying to take over the planet, he was stealing…. numbers? That was really weird alright and very different to this world.
“Um.. Yeah? Though he doesn’t try to steal numbers… More like, he’s trying to enslave the whole planet and turn it into a robotic wasteland and Sonic and I stop him from doing that.”
Sonic’s heart was warmed by his first statement. It meant a lot to him that this Tails considered him a friend, even if he wasn’t the Sonic that was meant to be in this world. It would’ve brought a smile to his face if his mouth was able to move.
When Tails started talking about their version of Robotnik, Sonic did a double-take. This guy sounded like a serious threat in comparison. Sure, he was a pain to deal with in the schoolhouse, but at least his Robotnik never tried to take over the entire school! He almost felt silly for calling his Robotnik a “bad guy” just because he ruined a few people’s homework.
“Woah,” he signed, “That sounds a lot worse than what my Robotnik has been trying to do. How long have you guys been trying to stop him?”
Hello I miss my demon son. Like or reblog for a starter with this yellow piss stain.
"Hey, hey, hey, Sonic!" Tails flew down to where the Sonic that came from the schoolhouse was. On the little fox's face was a massive grin as his dual tails wagged happily behind him akin to a puppy. "I have something for you!" He fished around in one tail before he pulled out a small metal object, holding it out to the hedgehog. "For you! Put this one and you'll be able to talk without those recorded line thingys."
The happy chippering of an orange fox was enough to get the hedgehog’s attention. He looked up at Tails flying down to him, wondering what’s got him so excited. When Sonic heard that he had something to give him, his interest peaked. Sonic slightly tilted his head. As he held out the small metal object, Sonic stared at it with confusion. It wasn’t until Tails started explaining what it did that he got excited. He put his hands to his mouth as if imitating a surprised gasp. Would it really be able to let him talk normally? In his own words? It seemed too good to be true.
Sonic carefully took the object from his hand, observing it. It seemed too big to be a bracelet, so he assumed this one was more like a collar. He wrapped the device around his nonexistent neck. It felt a little tight, but he had just enough room to breathe at least. Sonic was a little nervous to test it out. In a few moments, he was either going to have his own voice or have his hopes be shot down. He tried to think of something to say that couldn’t be said with any of his voice lines. Sonic took a deep breath in and...
“A gift...” Sonic lifted one hand up to his face, the other touching the collar in shock. Though emoting through facial expression was still a challenge, his body became more upright hearing his own voice for the first time. It seemed like his whole form was overcome with happiness. Sonic practically jumped for joy as he looked like an overhyped little rabbit. It was the greatest gift he’s ever gotten. It was the only gift he’s ever gotten.
“I can... actually talk! I can actually say what I’m thinking without having to lift a finger! I don’t have to use that other voice ever again! Hello! Tails!” Sonic threw his arms around Tails for a hug. “Thank you so much, Tails! I don’t know how I could ever repay you!”
classicpals:
[💎] Tails was happy to tell this new Sonic about anything that he wanted to know. He was more than willing to even show him some of the Zones around Mobius, given the fact that he wasn’t from this world. It was both interesting and confusing to the kit. The whole ordeal was and he was eagerer to find out more about the hedgehog.
The small fox watched the way the speedster moved his hands to make different symbols. He was using sign language to talk to him, not unlike his own Sonic. Luckily for him, he was very used to reading it since his big brother didn’t talk.
“Oh! You sign too just like Sonic! … My Sonic. Good think I know this or we’d have a problem…” The four-year-old sheepishly laughed at that, rubbing the back of his neck with a gloved hand. “Well… Is there anything you already know? I don’t want to trail across old ground for you.”
He laughed silently along with Tails’ observation. Signing was the best alternative to trying to use his old recorded lines. They didn’t make for effective communication outside the schoolhouse anyway.
Sonic put a hand to his chin and thought for a minute. What did he already know about Mobius? It was... a planet. He knew that Robotnik lived here too, but with no numbers here to steal, he couldn’t guess what Robotnik usually did on this planet. Maybe he was a nicer person on this planet? Someone who didn’t take answers from people just trying to do math problems.
“Well...” he signed, “I was coded with the knowledge that you’re my- Sonic’s best friend. I know that Robotnik lives here too. Though I’m not sure what he would be doing here if there aren’t any numbers on this planet for him to steal. Is he still a bad guy on your world?”
classicpals:
[💎] As soon as they appeared inside the world, coming back into exist, and getting his barrings, Sonic looked around wildly. Where was he and what was this place? He had never seen the Schoolhouse before. In fact, it didn’t even exist where he was from.
The place was.. a bit off putting if the hero was being honest with himself. And that was putting it lightly, even for him. There were numbers hopping and jumping around the places with eyes and they were massive. There were different posters that were littered across the walls of the building of himself, Tails, and whatever else.
Had he fallen asleep when in Green Hill? It would explain this weird house and his look-a-like. Speaking of him… Dark eyes looked over at the hedgehog that he remembered was in the room with him. He was the one who dragged him here to this weird place. He wanted answers and he wanted them now.
He was about to snap at him for kidnapping him and bringing him to who knows where, but he stopped himself before he could. The other rodent was already beating him to speaking and as upset as he was, he might have tried to hear him out. He surely had a good reason for all this, right?
The mute hedgehog’s ear twitched as he just stared at his double. He had no idea what he was trying to tell him. He knew that he was talking to him, but it appeared as though he was having trouble getting what he wanted to say across. The look of frustration on his face was a clear sign of that and because he couldn’t talk, the hero was pretty good at reading expressions more so now than he could before the accident.
He looked defeated after trying time and time again to speak to him. Could he not talk normally? Was something stopping him from doing that? After a while, he just gave up and began signing to him inside. He perked up as he watched his fingers move, studying them carefully so he understood what he was trying to tell him.
“Yeah, I speak it,” Sonic answered, signing back to the other blue hedgehog. He really didn’t have a choice due to his messed up throat he had gotten years ago. “You mind telling who you are, what this place is, and what’s going on?”
The Guide looked relieved as the blue doppelganger began to sign back to him. He didn’t want to resort to his Plan C: writing everything he wanted to say on one of the chalkboards. He knew the other one must have been confused by this unfamiliar world he was dragged into. It was up to him to explain what was going on.
“I’m Sonic the Hedgehog!” A voice clip played. At least he didn’t have to re-arrange anything for that line of dialogue. For his other questions, the Guide lifted up his hands to form symbols. “This is my schoolhouse. Everything you see here was created with very low resolution. The only exits are temporary and will send you right back here. If you’re lucky, one of the unpatched glitches will send you somewhere random for a brief period of time when you try to escape. That’s what lead me to appear in your world.”
This was probably a lot of information to take in all at once for him. Should he have taken this at a slower pace? Probably, but he couldn’t help but ramble, even if it was just in the form of signs. It was something at least. If this really was a possible chance of freedom, the Guide’s counterpart had to know as much as he could to help him escape.
“I’m always here.” Another voice clip played. “I’ve never had anyone real to travel with me before. You’re the first. I’ve had trouble finding a permanent escape from my schoolhouse on my own. I wanted to bring someone here to see if they could help.”
@classicpals continued from X
This was Mobius. A planet that should’ve felt like home to him according to his code. Despite knowing that the schoolhouse wasn’t his true home, it was the only place that really felt like it after a while. He’d become accustomed to gray walls, numbers with eyes, and posters on the wall. He knew that Mobius was the home planet of every other Sonic, so it was only logical that it should’ve felt like home to him too. He wanted it to feel like home, but it didn’t. He knew nothing about Mobius. He had no real memories of this place.
It was a relief when he saw Tails for the first time. In the flesh, not in the form of a poster that you can click and make disappear. He was supposed to be Sonic’s best friend. If he needed to talk to anyone right now to feel “at home,” it would be him. He needed to know more about this place.
“Don’t worry, I have the time,” he signed, “I know it’s nothing like the schoolhouse. Everything here seems more natural. People can actually talk back to you here. I’ll listen to whatever you have to tell me about this world.”
classicpals:
[💎] Green Hill was calm and peaceful for once in a long while. There was no sign of any Badniks or Robotnik and he was taking a much needed break. Flickies flew overhead, cheery chirps escaping them as a gentle breeze blew across the land.
Sonic stood atop a hill, eyes closed as he felt the wind brush against his quills and he took a deep breath. He enjoyed times like these when he could just unwind and be himself without having to worry about any robots attacking him or woodland critters. No Robotnik trying to take over, it was the life. The good life one that he fought so hard for.
Curling up into a ball, the mute hedgehog rolled down one of the many hills in the Zone picking up speed as he went. He came to a stop a small ways down at the bottom. He uncurled and chuckled lightly, laying flat on his back.
This was the life. Black eyes stared up at the blue sky as fluffy white clouds drifted by with the breeze. He smiled as he let his eyes close as he rested. Nothing could ruin this day for him.
Too bad for him, that was going to happen whether he liked it or not. Couldn’t he get just one day of resting and enjoying his life without something going wrong? Apparently not.
He heard the sound of rushing footsteps against the ground and he set up just in time to see a blue streak speed up to him. Dark eyes widened as he looked at the hedgehog before him. The stranger looked just like him! What in the world? Was this another robot made by Robotnik? If it was, he was sure getting better at making a cheap knock off.
Sonic rose an eyebrow at him as the other began to speak though his mouth didn’t move. How in the name of Chaos was he doing that? His name was Sonic too, huh? Was this another alternate perhaps or again, a robot who thought he really was him just like Metal Sonic did?
Before he had the chance to really think about it or even try to ask him what the hell was going on, the look-a-like grabbed a hold of him. He was about to jerk away from him when he started to glitch out in front of him and he did too! The last thing he remembered was watching the world disappear before his eyes in a glitchy mess before all went dark.
Loading...
With a quick flash of white light, the two of them were transported back into Guide’s Schoolhouse as the remaining pixels pieced themselves together. The Guide watched as the interior of the house started to form itself. Once the Guide was certain that the setting was completely loaded, he let go of Sonic’s arm. He turned to look at his counterpart with his usual deadpan smile. The Guide backed up slowly, just to get a better look at him. This hedgehog really was a clone of him, wasn’t he? Everything from the shoes to the shapes of their heads. They even shared the same hue, albeit different shades.
Despite who this doppelganger was, the Guide was surprised that he was actually able to bring anyone with him at all into his world. Usually, when people did come by, it was just some stranger on a screen. This was someone he was on the same plane of existence with. Someone tangible. Someone real. Maybe he can help.
Could he try to communicate with him? With voice recorded lines, it wasn’t going to be the easiest thing in the world, but he had to try. Perhaps there was a way to rearrange some phrases around and...
“-can choose your own-” The audio clip cut abruptly as the Guide put his hand to his mouth and shook his head, disappointed. Wrong clip. He tried again.
“You can-” He had the first part of the sentence down. Now if he could finish his sentence without any technical errors. “You can-... -and I’ll help!-... -me.” That wasn’t a coherent sentence. Though his expression remained emotionless, his shaking hands were balled into fists as he aggressively shook his head looking down. The Guide tapped his foot impatiently as he looked up, trying to think of something. “-not sure how to do it, ask a gr-” His frustration only grew worse with every mistake. Out of all the languages this schoolhouse just started to teach, he could barely piece together an English sentence. Why couldn’t he just talk like a normal hedgehog?
“You can ch- You can- help! Hi there! I’m Son-”
The Guide decided he’d had enough. He let out a tired exhale from his nose as he facepalmed. This kid wasn’t going to understand chopped up bits and pieces from old recordings. He decided to use his last resort form of communication.
“Please tell me you speak sign language.”

Another glitch. Where was he this time?
The moment he opened his eyes, he knew he wasn’t in his schoolhouse anymore. This place was much more natural than the artificial confines of his own world. It would’ve been jarring to him if he hadn’t already experienced this before. These random glitches were common, as the game- his schoolhouse had been left unchecked for years. This specific glitch was the only one he really liked. The glitch that would transport him to a different part of the universe for a short moment of time before he was transported back to his schoolhouse. It let him have a taste of what he was missing out there.
It also gave him a chance to find others.
Focus. This glitch is momentary.
There wasn’t much time. He needed to find someone. He was either bringing them back with him to lead them out of the schoolhouse or dragging them down with him. He couldn’t take one more minute of the schoolhouse. It was empty. There was no other company besides posters on the wall and words on a chalkboard. Every so often, an “animal” would waltz in looking for guidance, but there hasn’t been anyone like that in a long time. It was isolation. It was torture. He needed someone, anyone, before-
Just like that, he spotted hope. Hope in the form of a little blue hedgehog rolling across the fields of green. With a spark in his eyes, Guide bolted towards him at full speed, hoping to reach him before the glitch sent him back. Once he got close enough, he came to a screeching halt in front of the hedgehog. From there, the similarities between them were made clear to him. It took him by surprise, but he couldn’t get distracted.
“Hi there,” the guide greeted, mouth unmoving, “I’m S o n i c the Hedgehog! You’re going to play in my schoolhouse!” The voice was calm, but the Guide’s movements were faster than usual, almost frantic. He could feel his body getting ready to glitch back to the schoolhouse, so he knew he had to act quick, or he would have to wait around for the next glitch.
Guide quickly reached for his double’s arm before they glitched out of this world.
