Because I've been playing BG3 again and Im obsessed with BrBaBCS I cant help just decide what species the characters are.
The McGill family are halflings, apart from Jimmy McGill who was born a Tiefling due to someone in the McGill family ages ago making a deal with a devil. Its always been a slight to Chuck, not that Jimmy is a Tiefling (he says anyway), but that he is Jimmy. Chuck obviously looks like Chuck, but Jimmy is a Mephistopheles Tiefling, so he is blue with horns that fold over his skull, a tail that is very animated, and clawed hands (Still Bob Odenkirk though). He doesnt have cloven feet. His suits contrast with his blue skin. Chuck still has his issues with electronics here, but you could add in magic sensory issues as well.
Howard Hamlin and the Hamlins themselves (Including Cheryl) are high elves. Howard has that innate superiority complex where he cant quite help not talking down to someone. He likes Jimmy, he likes Kim, but hes also got that stick shoved up his ass like High Elves who lives longer than the other races around them so sticking Kim in doc review means nothing to him because he has the years to spare. Hes not a bad guy, hes just aloof to what his actions look like. Chuck, though, he respects him. He can be annoyed as well by having to put his devices in a mail box.
Kim Wexler is human. She is pretty much herself, changing her into another species I feel would change her character as a whole, especially in how Howard and her relationship goes throughout the show.
Walt is human because anything else would fundamentally change his character like it would for Kim. Skyler (and Marie) are half elves imho, which makes Flynn and Holly quarter elf. I wanted them not just human, but also not directly another species and I feel like half elf works.
Hank has been quite hard to place. Because part of me says dwarf, but another part says that doesnt fit, so I went and read about Earth Genasi and
Earth genasi tended to be strong and tough, but were often stubborn and oblivious.
That's not Hank. He is everything above. So I've decided on Earth Genasi where he has a more greying skin tone (still bald) with some mineral elements because jesus christ, marie, they're minerals, not rocks.
For Jesse I think he suits a deep gnome because they are curious and quite fun, but they harbour suspicion and dont trust easily as well. Males are bald, so it would be Jesse with his shaved head, he could even be half deep gnome and half forest gnome to explain hair.
I havent really decided on anyone else yet.
