She was remaining defiant, there was no need. Bigby remained honest to his word, he would not strike her, not unless she planned on slicing him into multiple pieces. Not that he would allow it, he could kill her in a few bites.

Those eyes  were like daggers on him, calculating her next move, the blade remained tightly clenched around her fingers. His pacing ceased, he paused to take a whiff of her scent, again it was as appealing like the time before.  

“If I had any intentions to kill you, I would have already done so,” it was only recently that the monstrously outsized wolf had set his eyes on the adversary, they were to blame for his usual prey diminishing in numbers.

Flesh had been tainted , giving a foul taste due to its corruption. It had made it his duty to slay every single one  them, nothing would stand in his way of his goals. He could also gain some self satisfaction over pissing off the Emperor of the Adversary. “No, I have an offer for you. Whether you choose to accept is your decision.”

In honesty, he hoped she would, a possible rescuing could win him some brownie points to appeasing the woman. Her scent made it clear that she wasn’t from this land, even her voice made that evident. “You’re not from this land, are you?”

           She became conflicted.

  Half of her body wanted to throw the dagger down and cry out to the wolf for mercy. Her other half wanted to strike him where he stood-demonstrating to him that she was not one to be messed with.

     {But she did neither of these things. She remained in place and held the dagger to the level of her chest-taking deep breaths and listening to the wolf speak of offers...and of distant lands-yes, of her home. Her home...how strange it seemed to even think about her home in a land miles and miles away-she could not even envision her own home clearly any longer-it was as if she saw it through a rose colored glass that distorted it. Hom-}

     The longing expression disappeared as quickly as it had begun and was replaced with her cold, icy stare. She wanted the wolf to fear her- she was Snow White.

      [And no one would ever harm her again.]

       ~”No, I’m not from here.”~

   And that was all she said of the matter. She looked away for a moment.

      ~”What are you going to offer me?”~

“Snow, forgive me for this... but uh, someone told me to do this.” He was anxious. Shit, she would kill him. Fuck it. He leaned in quickly and placed a careful yet tender kiss on her porcelain cheek. He backed off quickly and ceased all eye contact off her. “I’m sorry,” he apologized yet again.

She was silent for a moment, looking down at her scuffed, black shoes. She then looked up at him and managed a soft, gentle smile. She stood on the tips of her toes and kissed him gently on his own scruffy cheek.

“Sorry for what?”

Bigby felt the anxiety in his form rise once again. Sure he knew his boss very well, but even so, he couldn’t displace the concerns that he could mess everything up tonight. The honking of the horns from passing cars did little to distract him from these invasive and troubling thoughts. It felt like an eternity since the two had uttered a word between them, he wasn’t sure what to say. Bigby never anticipated to even get to this stage of the date, it was almost a miracle. He wondered if this was just a dream he would wake up to, only to find himself alone and miserable in his bed. That was when he felt her hand meet his, the thumb stroking gently against his calloused skin. It managed to return the wolf back to the reality he was situated in. He moved his gaze to hers, she was watching him carefully, detecting every shift in his body language. Something about the sapphire irises looking directly in his direction seemed to ease his nerves, but only a tad. “Oh, I’m not entirely sure if I’m honest. I’m more the sort to just pick and choose whatever there is available.” he then heard her question, but before his lips could part to answer her, she started to spill her inner thoughts. Was she honest about that? She really trusted him that much? ‘Oh believe me Snow, you’re not the only one to feel that way.’

The corners of his thin lips tugged to form a smile of endearment. “It’s alright Snow. You know; the feeling is mutual Snow. You’ve helped me a lot more than you could know.”

      A smile formed on her scarlet lips as she gripped his hand a tad more tightly- it was almost as if she feared letting go of his hand. Because if she did, he might disappear and she would be left alone once more...

        {And she did not want to be alone.}

For the majority of her life, she had been alone. She had no one-of course, she enjoyed the feeling of independence-but, the princess also craved for company. Wasn’t it natural to want company? To be loved? To be held by someone and reassured that everything was going to be alright?

      She had spent the majority of her life without company-love-without someone to reassure her. She had been forced to pick herself up without any guidance-without any aid.

       {But now she had found someone.}

And she loved him-

       she truly loved him.

She could no longer deny that her love for him was a love that yearned to be satisfied-that was true. It was neither lust nor passion.

      [It was love.]
