Role Playing Game of the Day: Cyberpunk (R. Talsorian Games 1988)

The original Cyberpunk setting is 2013. It was originally published as a boxed set in 1988, and R. Talsorian released a few supplements for this edition, including Rockerboy, Solo of Fortune, and Hardwired, the latter based on the Walter Jon Williams novel of the same name.

Wow. I love that 2013 was so far away and the future so radically different in 1988.

I will also say, from playing Cyberpunk for years, that the combat system can be spectacularly lethal. I found it fairly realistic while still being playable. And you could tweak and add house rules fairly easy I thought. I really enjoyed playing that game. I should dig my books out and run a game again.
