ooc;; ... My last post here was over two months ago.

ooc;; Yet I’ve still been gaining a consistent stream of followers, despite doing nothing here in all that time. I’m at over 200 followers. Christ, guys.

Am I back? I... don’t know for certain. My muse for Sci!Twi hasn’t been all that strong. But recently, a group verse she’s in has revived itself and is finally kicking off. Midsummer Channel... remember that? So thank the verse for me giving this blog another shot.

With confirmations from both sides, there still came a moment of silence. Sunset wanted to speak and smooth things out further, but it was all she could do to hold the excitement that brewed in her heart.

It could be anything at this point, and she’d be up for it.

So she interjected when she heard Twilight having just as much trouble forming a coherent suggestion.

“’What should we do together?’ W-Well… ”

It didn’t feel right to suggest a traditional date. That’s what she used to do with Flash, and- well, Twilight was a very different person with different interests. But could she make a date happen in her home, or a library…? Not very likely. Those weren’t geared for dating… but then again, what was? Sunset didn’t know.

But she wanted to say something. She didn’t want Twilight to be left uncomfortable from this. Or have second thoughts. No, she couldn’t let this happen.

“D-Do you want to watch the stars with me?”

She said what came to mind, but was quick to add something-

“We c-could make a picnic out of it. Y’know, like we’d do with the girls- BUT, well… just with the two of us?”

She blushed noticeably at the last sentence. It didn’t affect her dreamy smile though.

... Once again, Sunset was guiding things along, helping, making the best of what was honestly quickly becoming a mess of a situation. ... Not that she was complaining. This would be a much messier situation if she Sunset wasn’t able to offer this sort of help.

As Sunset picked up on where she was going, Twilight couldn’t help but feel embarrassed... even finishing asking something was what Sunset needed to do. She’d definitely need to focus on calming down before she sees her again.

“ ... The... stars, huh? ”

“ Um... well, it is supposed to be a clear night tonight... the stars should be beautiful tonight. That, uh... that sounds like a great idea, Sunset. ”

She didn’t have any plans, anyways... hopefully Spike wouldn’t give her any trouble about it, but she was sure he’d be fine. Besides... Twilight didn’t want to lose this chance.

She’s never been this excited to watch the stars before.

“T-That’s fine…!”

In the moment’s excitement, Sunset didn’t want to dissuade Twilight from the idea due to lack of planning, so she said that. Sunset felt like she’d be fine with anything, so long as they stuck together.

She might have come off too strongly earlier, so she tried fixing into a soothing tone. Not that it was particularly so, but just closer to how she normally spoke to Twilight anyway.

“I mean… Don’t worry about it. We can figure something out.”

Why was Twilight this cute? She was just being herself, and stumbling over her sentences more than usual, but Sunset could no longer take her eyes off of her. Being asked out did all but make her star-eyed. She felt like she was drifting in a dream. But if that was the case, she rather not wake up for a long while.

“As soon as I can think again… I-I’m not any more experienced on this, r-really…”

Flash was one thing, and not someone she dated for the sake of going to dates: it was only about getting more popular. This was different. She… didn’t know exactly what she was feeling for Twilight, since it was a mix of many things…

But it was so strong.

Watching Sunset try and deal with this sort of thing herself at least gave Twilight a sort of assurance that she... was happy about this herself? Twilight couldn’t be completely sure... but the thought was reassuring.

“ ... I-I... okay. ”

“ H-Heh, um... well, a-alright... ”

She was blushing like mad, now... but she wasn’t panicking quite as much. Sunset was good at that... helping her calm down when she starts panicking. That was a part of the reason she was close enough to Sunset for the thought of a date seeming so appealing... ... Goodness, it was amazing how good Sunset was at making her so comfortable.

“ ... ”

“ ... U-Uh... so, what... should we... er... ”

She couldn’t help but feel bad being the one who initiated this whole thing, yet she’s the one tempted to ask what she’s supposed to do. Her awkwardness was so frustrating. Sunset deserved a better response than what she was offering...

... ‘Date’.

Twilight’s intentions hadn’t, in the moment, been to ask Sunset for a date. ... Well, in a way, they were, but she hadn’t meant to put it that way. That was how it had crossed her mind in her head, but she had only intended to ask in the end if Sunset wanted to hang out.

She was internally panicking just as soon as she said it. That was what she said. She just asked Sunset. On a date. She was struggling to find the words to defend herself, to back out, because she had no clue what to do with this. And if Sunset didn’t want to herself, this could lead to some really awkward situations in the future... and if Twilight couldn’t go to Sunset, her closest friend, without awkwardness, she didn’t know what she’d do.

“ U-Uh! Um, y-you don’t-- ”

She didn’t really have the chance to get her words out in time, before Sunset... grabbed her hand in such a gentle way. Her blush only grew deeper, as her hand gently eased itself in Sunset’s.

She was... okay with it? ‘Wishful thinking’...? She... wanted to...?

“ ... U-Um, ah... that’s... t-truthfully, I-I didn’t think that far. I-I don’t... ”

“ ... S-Sorry, I... I didn’t prepare as much as I should have. ”

... She was already feeling bad about that. She asks someone on a date, she should really have more plans for it...

This whole thing was a mess of massive proportions, as far as she was concerned.

Twilight was just watching Sunset as she... worked to give her answer. Seeing her be the blushing mess, it was only inevitable Twilight would follow suit... especially after hearing that A+ that came out of it.

Did... Sunset really want to put that on her? Flawless? She didn’t consider herself very attractive... Sunset was way prettier than she was, and far more warranted an A+, as far as she was concerned. Her blush only grew deeper and deeper and that thought to herself didn’t help matters.

“ U-Um... uh... th-thanks...? ”

Sunset headed off to hide her embarrassment at that point, leaving Twilight just... confused.
