Sometime you wonder how certain albums will translate live and “Carrie & Lowell” was one of them, how to create such a heartfelt journey to such a mass of people whilst retaining its intimacy. Well, if you ever want a lesson on how it’s done make sure you see this tour.

Hi Laura I noticed that you were one of the few people to see the Sufjan Stevens soundcheck things i put on YouTube. I've just put the last part up there. I've also put links onto Tumblr and Twitter. Cheers Laurie

Sufjan Stevens performs a soundcheck at End of the Road. Part 2
Sufjan Stevens came to End of the Road this year. As well as the fabulous performance in the evening, he treated us to a soundcheck in the morning. It was a fascinating insight into how the band work together. And a chance to get much closer to the front than i'd normally ever achieve ! I took a few photos and short video and then left the sound recorder running on my phone. Hi-fi it is not but if you're a Sufjan fan hopefully it's something a bit different. There's plenty of much better footage out there - i dont know how they do it. I'm too busy watching the show ! This is a link to part 1
Thanks, scilly99! There we are - third and fourth from the right. :D
Excellent - if you find any more from another angle please put up a link. Cheers !
Unedited Kitson photos ....
Post show clear up at #Roundabout 29th August
Do you have any more pictures? I was one of the five people he gently made fun of because we were sitting on the stands intended for four people; and I was the one he was suspicious of because I had my mobile phone out. He appeared to feel remorseful for even asking what that was in my hand, though. :P (I’m glad I decided against taping the show with my spectacle-mounted mics - he’d surely have seen them. The phone was really just a phone, and I wasn’t recording it.)
I'll put the unedited ones up - but you'll see why i edited them !

Yes i remember the reference to you all. Sadly no more photos. I felt self conscious enough taking those two hurried pictures at the end. Ive heard him enough times rip into people taking pictures ! Ive only seen one other picture which might be that day. https://twitter.com/deepy1975/status/638424498774126592 Yellow t-shirt - which is a clue ....

Tree If you haven’t seen it - you really should. Probably my favourite Kitson production. The interplay with Tim Key was marvellous. TK is very underrated as an actor. I first saw DK at @LatitudeFest 2013 talking about this play. He only had a couple of pages - but still managed to talk for an hour or so interspersed with the few lines he had. It was great to finally see the finished work.
Beach in Autumn
Robert Wyatt @arnolfiniarts in conversation with his Biographer Marcus O'Dair. A great night out. Can't wait to read the book - Different Every Time. By the way - Robert Wyatt is on the Left.
End of the Road festival - miss you already.
