🦕 Paléontologie française: . Paris: Chez l'auteur, 1840-1894.. Original source Image description: Historical black-and-white scientific illustration from “Paléontologie française” (1840-1894) depicting detailed fossil structures of Disteginopora horrida, a Jurassic bryozoan species. The image shows close-up views of textured, porous colonial skeletons with tubular and chambered features, labeled with letters and numbers to indicate different parts. Notable are the patterned rows of small openings and chambers, with some sections showing cross-sections revealing internal structures. The drawing highlights the intricate architecture of the bryozoan’s calcified exoskeleton, typical of marine invertebrate fossils from the Jurassic period.
