I donāt particularly care about Hazbin Hotel discourse one way or the other, but Iām always happy to provide more examples of lgbtq rep in western animation! Especially since it seems to me like most of the new adult animated shows I hear about end up having prominent, canonical lgbt characters
So yeah hereās some more western cartoons (including movies) from the last 10ish years with canon queer rep that arenāt the normal rotation of owl house / Steven universe / she-ra / hellaverse / etc
Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts (one of the main cast is explicitly gay and gets a boyfriend by season 2)
Scavengers Reign (has a butch lesbian in the main cast)
Nimona (it's by ND Stevenson, what do you expect)
Twelve Forever (main character is wlw and tomboyish in way that can read as gender nonconforming, also has a gay couple among the side characters)
Wendell & Wild (prominent trans character)
Women Wearing Shoulder Pads (every single main character is sapphic)
Dead End: Paranormal Park (was already mentioned in the tags of the first post but routinely slept on. Trans gay protagonist and wlw deuterogonist)
Common Side Effects (one of the main characters is canonically a lesbian)
City of Ghosts (target demographic skews much younger than most of these shows, but one of the main cast is canonically nonbinary)
RWBY (two of the gals in the main cast get together in the second half of the show, plus some minor lgbt characters)
Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (has some minor characters who are canonically lgbtq+, one of whom had an excellent focus episode that was so trans that Disney shelved itābut thereās like five different uploads of it on archive.org)
Craig of the Creek (was mentioned before, but to clarify since I did watch over half of this show: has some nonbinary and lesbian side characters, and one of the main trio is in a relationship with another girl as of season 4. wouldn't surprise me if they added more after i left off)
My Adventures With Superman (apparently Mallah and The Brain have been gay in the comics for a while and this is the first time they've been portrayed as such outside the comics. Never finished this show so if there's any other representation post- season one I haven't heard about it yet)
The Legend of Vox Machina and The Mighty Nein (Not 100% sure on the specifics but Iām pretty these shows both have several canonically lgbt characters)
Scott Pilgrim Takes Off (arguably an anime but very adjacent to the western animation space, handles Roxy/Ramona much better than the movie [and the comic, from what Iāve heard] and Todd is definitely bi now)
I Donāt Want To Be A Magical Girl (currently only has 2 episode animatics and promises of a fully animated pilot, but at least 5/6 of the main characters are lgbt and Kiana Khansmith posts a lot of Miss/Eclipse and Zira/Aika art on her tumblr)
Amazing Digital Circus (I donāt remember the exact specifics but Zooble is not cis. Gooseworx has also heavily implied that Jax is trans, I don't know if that's technically canon yet)
Infinity Train (to my knowledge does not have any canonically queer characters, but the protag of book 2 is near-universally interpreted as nonbinary from my experience in the fandom)
The Mitchells vs the Machines (itās not really relevant to the plot but the main character is gay)
Ever After High (prince charming tried to wake his princess with true love's kiss and it didn't work, but then his sister tried and guess what happened?)
The Ghost and Molly McGee (apparently several recurring characters are lgbt? This is what I get for not finishing this show)
Ark: The Animated Series (main character is a wlw, I still need to finish it but from what I've heard the show averts Bury Your Gays by virtue of giving her a second girlfriend)
Monster High Gen 3 (Frankie Stein is nonbinary now!)
Strange World (prominent gay character. I think the movie itself wasn't as bad as everyone said, but it also wasn't good enough that I'd want rewatch it. from what I remembered there was nothing wrong with the gay rep though)
everything after here is something I haven't watched (yet), so I can't speak to quality or specifics firsthand but this is what I've heard:
OK KO: Let's Be Heroes (pretty sure there's a bunch of lgbt characters in this one)
Dragon Age: Inquisition (definitely has an mlm and wlw couple in the main cast)
Second Best Hospital In The Galaxy (according to a friend who watched it, "everyone is bi")
Captain Laserhawk (the titular captain is canonically gay)
Star Trek Lower Decks (really need to get around to watching this soon, but Iāve heard the main character is canonically bi)
Danger and Eggs (another semi-obscure show known for good trans rep, from what I've heard)
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous (Canon wlw couple)
Tuca and Bertie (was very queer from what I've heard)
BoJack Horseman (still has one of the only canonically asexual characters I've heard of, one character has 8 dads in a poly, and probably some other lgbt characters too)
Clone High reboot (definitely has canon lgbt characters, though I can't speak to the quality)
Q-Force (pretty sure every character in this is lgbt. I know it got a lot of hate but I have a couple mutuals who loved this show)
Harley Quinn 2019 (another show famous for a very prominent wlw couple)
Loud House (one of the sisters has a girlfriend)
Win or Lose (infamously had a trans subplot that got cut by Disney. to my understanding itās still kinda obvious that Kai is trans if you're looking for it)
Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man (apparently has a canon queer woman in the main cast)
Long Story Short (also has a canon queer woman in the main cast)
Cleopatra in Space: (I'm actually not 100% sure if the main character and her best friend were ācanonically" lgbt but they definitely kissed each other on the lips)
Carol & the End of the World: (I'll be honest I had no idea what the specifics are here, but I think there's at least one poly relationship of the "everyone is equally attracted to everyone" variety)
Twilight of the Gods (has several explicitly lgbt characters, apparently)
anyways that's all I can think of off the top of my head plus a few more I had to look up and double check
