I finally did it.

If I can bring in enough, I will be able to afford to do more art, and even potentially restart Scootaling.

I’m not trying to hold it hostage for money here, but I do go through a LOT of sketchbooks and pencils when I go on an art tear and right now I just can’t afford it. Groceries alone are decimating my budget.

Some sort of update.

Yeah, the comics have been on extended hiatus while I’ve been trying to work my way back from complete burnout. I’ve had a setback, though. Last week I lost most of the ability to move my left hand (my drawing hand), as well as most of the strength in my left wrist. I’m just getting to where I can hold my hand up while gripping a fork, and full recovery may take a few weeks to a few months. This has left me unable to do any sketches. It’s also left me unable to do any gaming streams.

Also leaving me unable to do any gaming streams is the fact that my TV died. I’m most likely going to have to find another CRT and pick up a powered splitter, as money allows. The chances of finding another CRT that has composite AV outputs is extremely slim, hence needing a splitter.

And because bad news must come in threes, the fuel pump in the Explorer died late in July. We can’t afford to bring it to a mechanic, and it’s one of those that you have to drop the fuel tank before you can get to the pump. I’ve been having to walk everywhere, and it’s wiping me out especially with the weather being what it is.

So, yeah. Bad luck all around.

Modpost - FAQ update and more

The FAQ has been moved to its own side page (accessible from the top menu) and has been updated with new questions as well as some rules for the askbox. The blog changelog has also been moved to the FAQ page for the time being. (Yes, I know that the body of the FAQ is showing up as grey text in the mobile browser. I’m working on it.)

The site currently stands at version 4.0.

Also, I am trying to see if I can fix the older updates that have seemingly fallen out of the tags, causing them to not show up in storyline-only, read-by-book and filler-only mode. (Yes, I know they aren’t showing up. Quit sending asks about it!) 

Worst case, I will have to reblog everything into the tags, in order, and delete the originals.

Many, many old modposts have been deleted. Some of the older non-comic images may follow in being deleted. I’m trying to get the archive down to comics, follower specials, and some promos.

Modpost: Theme

I’d say “don’t look now,” but that’s kind of the point.

The blog’s theme has been changed. We’ve finally moved on from the Fluid Neue theme we used to use, and gone with something different to celebrate the upcoming start of Book 4. The new theme is much friendlier to large screens, but should still be legible on as low as a 1024 pixel wide browser.

The mobile theme is still the default one.

Edit: The ability to leave Disqus comments has been lost for the time being. I am investigating ways to restore it properly. As well, the ability to repost a post directly onto Twitter, G+ or Facebook (yuck) is also lost for the moment. You can still just copy/paste the URL of a post to one of those and it should work fine for now.

It’s that time again

I’m opening up a casting call for people’s OCs to be featured in a few upcoming comics.

Said OCs will be depicted as Crystal Ponies or as Changelings. Therefore, only OC ponies or changelings, and specifically ponies or changelings will be accepted (no gryphons, zebras, etc. Sorry.) Whichever pony type they are, they’ll be drawn as a normal Crystal Pony or as a Changeling for these updates.

If you want your OC to get into the comic, please send a reference to the submission box. Those submitting changelings, please also send along a color reference for said changeling’s preferred pony form.

If you have had your pony featured in Update 21, please do not enter the same pony for this.

First come, first serve. I will delete this post when I have enough entrants to work with.
