No one talks about how in the original 1980s She-Ra show, Huntara was just some alien bounty hunter that Hordak hired in a one-off gig to capture/kill She-ra.
Specifically, she is a "Silaxian" from "Planet Silax". Whatever that means.

I wonder if the writers of the She-ra reboot had her original story in mind when they added her into the plot? Was she still some alien doing gig work for the Horde or is she native to Etheria? Her origins are made purposefully vague.
Now, my personal HC is that her species arrived on Etheria as close allies to the First Ones. Or perhaps the First Ones sought out her planet for some kind of trade deal/diplomacy thing later on? Point is, her species was on Etheria way before Mara isolated Etheria from the rest of the universe. Now to fill in the blank as to why there is no one else like Huntara, I think that maybe her people just naturally fizzled out?
In the reboot we see other bipedal sentient life forms that have purple skin. The first that comes to mind are the moth people/forest elves (think of Flutterina and the inhabitants of Elberon). It's very realistic that if Silaxians are genetically compatible with other sentient life forms, they could've gone the way of the Neanderthal and just.. bred out of existence.
"But then how could Huntara, the shining example of what we as the audience know what a Silaxian looks like exist?" I hear you ask, well, I thought of an answer for that.
Perhaps the Horde found her in the Crimson Waste as part of their child soldier orphan recruitment thing. It would explain how she feels at home in such an environment, if she was born there that is. Additionally, an infamously uninhabitable location like the Crimson Waste probably wouldn't be that many people joining the population, so genetic diversity could be stagnant. This would explain how her appearance, but also maybe raise some concerns about her ancestry (😬🪕).
My original plan for this post was to also make her an Endling (last living specimen of a species) like Scorpia, but that's too easy and I want Scorpia's HC story to be unique. That doesn't mean they can't both share similar feelings of being different or alienated (ha) from their communities.

Coming back to this after it got some more notes recently. I was thinking about how Huntara or the other characters would discover this information. The scenario I have in my mind is perhaps Adora takes Huntara to meet Light Hope one day for whatever reason. Light Hope would say something like "Greetings ally of the First Ones" and Adora and Huntara would be like ???. Light Hope would then lore dump like she usually does.
Would this change anything in the story? I'm honestly uncertain. Huntara hasn't shown any interest in ancient history (as far as the show version of her is concerned). Despite her selfish personality and goals of self preservation, I think Huntara really doesn't think about herself (or her non-existent family) on an emotional level. She only cares about her physical needs like getting food, water and shelter. After those needs have been fulfilled, then *maybe* she might indulge in extracurricular self care.
I feel like this revelation might make Entrapta explode (from excitement) though. Entrapta would probably try and take hair or skin samples from Huntara and end up with a black eye or a broken nose as a result of poking the bear.

I don't quite go here (I mean, I want to watch She-Ra at some point but I've not had the chance to) but @umbrum77 suggested it and I love it! They have so much in common (Scorpia is perfect and deserves nice things).
I'm sure Karlach would see in (Horde) Scorpia a young Karlach still working for Gortash, and I think she'd be pretty protective.
Kicking my feet in the air and screaming into my pillow imagining Horde Prime infected Scorpia being Violent and Scary. Perhaps she is even the last pawn that Horde Prime uses even after he is defeated. So she is just on total warpath autopilot mode. The Princess Alliance is forced to do the unthinkable and try to subdue Scorpia just long enough for Entrapta to pry out the chip (even though its probably pretty deep in her neck by now). hrgnnnn
Like, after at least 5 rewatches of the series, I've come to realize why exactly I've started to really not care for Scorfuma. Before, I couldn't exactly put my finger on it but now I think I know just what it is.

There is no push or shove.
Scorpia and Perfuma share a *lot* of similar traits if you analyze them. Obviously Scorpia had far more time for character development and arcs so she is more rounded out. Perfuma had like.. 1-2 character arcs and they were so-so. On the surface, Perfuma is kind of one note, but, there is this secret side of her that is kind of interesting that we really only see a few times.
She is kind of an asshole.
Think about it. How she put Entrapta on a *leash* and how rude she was towards Huntara (sure they made "friends" at the end but you just know they still got beef). She tries to force people into her own way of thinking, even if they go at a different pace than she does. Shes the perfect example of toxic positivity. I can totally see her being condescending towards others if they don't meet her high standards of what "kindness" are. Even though this is a negative trait, it makes her more human and less one-note. This is a part of her that she doesn't acknowledge and refuse to change, despite her constant attempts to change others.
Then something kind of clicked.
In a realistic Scorfuma relationship, whats stopping Perfuma from trying to form Scorpia into what *she* wants Scorpia to be? She is totally the type to push aside Scorpia's own aspirations/needs and just turn her into a clone of herself, a Perfuma 2 if you will. A toxic nest of positivity in which Scorpia is once again forced into a role that she doesn't like. I can see her trying on dresses that just don't hit the mark, but Perfuma grinning ear-to-ear saying how pretty she looks. Its like a shoe that doesn't fit quite right. Slowly it gives your feet blisters and sores. Scorpia is caged in once again, except this time the cage has a few more flowers than it did before.
I can also imagine it being hard for Scorpia to say no, just as it was before.
I say all of this because I've known people IRL who are totally like Perfuma. They mask their own agenda by being almost offensively positive. They call themselves "empaths" and constantly try to sell you the idea that they are kind. Yet, they forget that actions speak louder than words.
Okay here's something that's been brewing in my mind.. if Huntara was a secret elemental princess with a runestone, which out of these options would she be?
Mineral Princess (controls/creates sand, crystals, rocks and such)
Fire powers (controls/creates fire and lava)
