You know how parents grow old and their kids grow up and move out and the parents are on their own with each other?

ok so like, scouts single, i imagine he doesnt go for dating as his kids grow up because he doesnt find himsef having time for romance when he wants to put his kids first. so when he grows up hes totally alone in his giant house, and not just that, his kids are too absorbed in their own lives that they hardly call or visit, so he just exists, and the other mercs are old and existing too, so he doesnt really have anyone to turn to and hes alone

In the post I was talking about the thought I had where he died temporarily in 1987 but had the paddles used on him or possible cpr to bring him back, like it was a literal visit to heaven. And even then I fully imagine Scout would die in at least 2010 or somewhere upward if he keeps his health in check.
