What’s always annoyed me about the Queer community (and media) is the fact that MLM is so much more popular and better represented than WLW. Why is it that every peace of “queer media” is of gay men?
Don’t get me wrong, any representation is good and gay men absolutely deserve to be represented. But there is SO much representation for them and barely any for queer women. And when there is, it almost always has a bad ending. Why don’t we get the fuzzy representation and happy endings?
Even in our own communities, lesbian/sapphic struggles are more overlooked than gay struggles. It’s odd to me.
Having a mother that works in the medical field is amazing for a multitude of reasons. Such as when you pass out at Disney and she not only saves you, but you also overhear a funny conversation while you’re coming in and out of it:
Cast Member 1: “So you need me to call an ambulance?”
Mom: “No I just need some water!”
Cast Member 2: “We can call 911”
Mom: “I AM 911. I’m a medical professional and I work in the ER. Just get me water!”
TEXT: Starscream is no stranger to burning bridges. In her early life she fled from vocation to vocation, escaping inter-polity trading to a promising scientific apprenticeship, before eventually washing up in the last place that would take her; Cybertron’s military. Despite the political tension, she assumed this would be an intelligent career choice, as she didn’t foresee Cybertron’s multi-millennia era of peace ending anytime soon.
When the Council of Primes authorized the formation of the paramilitary Autobots, Starscream graduated from a technical officer to a squadron co-commander. Her sharp charisma and quick thinking made her formidable, but her temperament often landed her in trouble with her superiors, relegating her to reconnaissance and security work. She found this unbearably dull. Dissatisfied with her place in the Autobots, both materially and philosophically, it wasn’t long before the prospect of defecting occurred to her; when the opportunity presented itself in the form of a first lieutenant position with the Decepticons, she didn’t think twice, weaponizing her charm to recruit as many of her fellow aerial corps as possible.
In the beginning, the Decepticons seemed like a perfect fit. Starscream’s high intelligence and varied experience made her a creative combat strategist. Unleashed from disciplined military training, she developed a controlled, yet unpredictable attack style, propelling her to infamy with her enemies. Perhaps most importantly, her appeal was irresistible, and her duplicitous duende made her a natural complement to Megatron’s grandiose sincerity. For a while, things were perfect… but inevitably, like every opportunity before it, Starscream couldn’t keep herself satisfied for long.
Today, her position with the Decepticons feels more and more like a burden. Destructive spontaneity and a hot temper have soured most of her relationships with her fellow officers, Megatron most of all. Starscream’s frustration with her commander’s perceived inaction manifests in many acts of rebellion, even attempted mutinies, all of which Megatron has taken great efforts to hide from their subordinates. Once a formidable unit, the Decepticon high command has become inert, dysfunctional, and resentful.
As the possibility of being expelled from Cybertron
entirely looms over them, Starscream finds herself
between worlds. Does she satisfy her seemingly unquenchable ambition and try to take control of the Decepticons-permanently? Does she submit to her restless neurosis and abandon her station entirely? With the survival of her, Megatron, and everyone else on the spaceship Determination at stake, she has to decide what’s more valuable: the Decepticon cause she’s become attached to, or herself.
Unpopular opinion but I hate lost light Megatron. Sure he’s extremely guilty about his actions (as he should be) but he literally got away scott free and gets to go on space adventures with his friends until the end of time like WHAT. The genocidal war criminal essentially gets no consequences. Don’t get me wrong Megatron is one of my favorite characters but he literally deserves to be like, put to death idk.
…Lost Light Megs does have an amazing design however.
Thinking of doing a SG Skybound fic and it’s so much fun trying to think about how the story would change and the characters would be different in a SG universe
Also I’m actually trying to write down plot ideas instead of just freeballing it
Did a little redesigning of my Megastar sparkling! She has Megatron’s frame with Starscream’s colors and wings. Not entirely sure if she’s canon to my AU or not but I love her enough to where she might be
