speculation on the glasses: 1. i have found the cosplay site that makes the reproductions and looked through their informational guide to all the features of the alain mikli originals they preserved (including the little peaks on the tops of the frames!) 2. i ain't buying that shit 3. sorry 4. i am going to go on zenni and buy a cheap ass pair of glasses in my actual rx and modify them to meet my needs

so how am i gonna do that? 1. find glasses that look about right, matched in shape as much as possible and matched in color to the lightest shade of the tortoiseshell of the originals 2. figure out how to color, using dye, or more likely nail polish, the frames to have the striped pattern found on the originals. hopefully as seamlessly as possible so they don't look like i just slapped paint on em 2.5 possibly fuck up some thrift store or dollar tree readers trying to determine if rit dyemore (which i've seen people use on crocs and converse before) also does acetate plastic well enough 3. i briefly considered buying some acrylic nails stuff to make the little peaks on the frames but I don't think, for me, it would be worth the effort, and color matching something translucent with a shade of an entirely new material would be a LOTTA work. nah

Today I bring you a pair of sad little jangly tunes - Palmistry by Great Lake Swimmers, and Losing My Religion by REM. Palmistry was a recommendation Spotify served me after another album ended recently. I liked it, saved it, and then realized these two songs make a great little pair.

I used to go to the public library and pick out random CDs to listen to, and then someone I knew in real life recommended this song to me like a week after I checked out the disc! It just came back to me all of a sudden today, and man, it does really, really go hard.
