Witch tip
Before bed each night, take a moment to give thanks for the best part of your day, even if thatâs just eating a meal or drinking some water.

Newest addition of my dreamcatcher collection the bundle in front of my door is lavender and sage (in case you wondered)
being a witch means trudging into the kitchen at one am wrapped in a blanket to make craft mac and cheese in the microwave- then eat it slumped over your computer reading about crystals and tarot cards and writing shit down in your grimoire that you hoped would look cool and magicky and mysterious but actually just looks like a notebook filled with random notes and your lights are all off and youre currently enveloped in your dark batcave room with only candles lit cus youre a fucking vampire and the candles are every fucking color cus you gotta make sure you get every benifit from every color like blue to calm your eternal stress and pink to end your nonexistent love life all while your half alive eating your craft mac and cheese at now 2am

Sleep Tight Spell Bag
This spell bag is designed to bring sweet dreams, deep, restful sleep, and to protect from all negative energies.Â
INGREDIENTS:
- rose quartz chips (sleep, calmness)
- poppy seeds (sleep)
- dried lavender buds (peace, protection)
- star anise (protection, sleep)
- dried sage (protection)
- sandalwood incense
- lavender incense
- jasmine incense
- a small bag/sachet
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Prepare your altar/working space as you usually would. Ground and centre yourself, and cast a circle, invoking any deities you wish to work with, if any.Â
2) When you feel ready, you may begin. Place a few rose quartz chips into the bag, whilst saying the following:Â âRose quartz, to calm my racing mind.â
3) Place a pinch of poppy seeds into the bag, whilst saying the following:Â âPoppy seeds, for deep, restful sleep.â
4) Place a generous pinch of dried lavender buds into the bag, and say the following:Â âLavender, for sweet dreams, free from worry.â
5) Place a single star anise in the bag, whilst saying the following:Â âStar anise, to protect my sleeping spirit and mind.â
6) Place a pinch of sage into the bag, and say the following:Â âSage, to protect my physical form as I rest, from all harm, and negative energies.â
7) Hold the bag in both hands, over the smoke of sandalwood, lavender, and jasmine incense, and recite the following incantation:
âA wall of white
and pure light
surround me as I sleep so tight.
No nightmares may enter,
nor evil pervade,
for only goodness exists where I lay.
And when I awake,
in day, or in night,
I am rested, and calm, and filled with might.
The might to go out,
and live so carefree.
As I will, so mote it be.â
8) Close the bag, and feel free to end the ritual as you usually would, closing the circle, and making sure all lit candles and incense are safely snuffed out.Â
USE AND CARE
Your spell bag is now ready to use! Simply lay it under your pillow, to ensure a good nightâs sleep.Â
I would recommend cleansing and charging it once a week, by holding it over the smoke of sandalwood, lavender, and jasmine incense, and reciting the aforementioned incantation.Â
Once you can no longer smell the lavender and star anise, it is time to make a fresh one.Â
CONSIDERATIONS
Please remember that if you do not have access to any of the ingredients for this spell, you may substitute for whatever you feel will work. Donât have any lavender, but always think rosemary gives off a peaceful vibe? Go for it! If you canât find incense, you can always substitute with scented candles, too.Â
As with any spell involving incense, PLEASE be careful! Make sure to have a jar of water nearby just in case things get out of hand, and keep your burner well away from anything flammable.Â
If you are having serious trouble sleeping, or handling intense, consistent nightmares, please see a doctor. Magick is not a replacement for medical help.Â
I hope you all enjoyed this little spell! I have definitely had really great results with my little bag, and I wish you all the best when making your own.Â
Blessed be,
- K
xoxo
NEW MOON đŻđđ
In honor of tonightâs new moon, here are some things to do on a new moon night, relative correspondences, and some general info!
New moons are known for representing new beginnings, renewal, change, and hope.
Things to do:
Set intentions and plan // this is a great time to figure out your life, tomorrow is a new day and it could be the start of something great!
Cleanse EVERYTHING
Divination // I currently use tarot cards and a pendulum because thatâs all I have but anything you like will do. This a great time to do divination work and really figure out what may be next for you.
Moon magick!
Start something new // it could be as simple and low key as starting a new book or as adventurous and complex as starting a new relationship.
Spell work // I personally recommend spells that involve healing, purifying, luck, and shielding.
Rest and reflect
Protect yourself, your home with a ward.
Things that work well:
Moonstone, opal, obsidian
Rosemary, lavender, lemon, thyme
Cedar, oak
Daisy, iris, dandelion
Black, gold, white, silver
I hope this is helpful and inspires you of all! Have a great new moon // đâ¨
Offerings to the fae
Firstly, remember not to bury or leave glass or plastic in nature. Here are some other ways that you could make your offerings:Â
If your offering bird seeds or other organic materials that can be buried in the ground as is, do so. Â
Rap your offerings up in large leavesÂ
I read an idea that you could make a sort of bowl from ice and place your offerings in it. It will melt over time. Perfect if you want to leave an offering in the sea or a lake.Â
Use organic material like paper (preferably not white, bleaches paper) to rap and bury your offerings in.Â
You can always place a glass or plastic jar somewhere where you can retrieve it.Â
Ideas for what to offer:Â
(Fae folk love all that is sweet)Â
Honey Â
Cookies
Milk
FruitÂ
Bird seedsÂ
Remember, when leaving things in nature you have to take into account that animals might get to it. Leaving candy for the fae is great for the fae but you canât really be sure no birds or other animals wonât eat it, and they might get sick.
Make sure the things you leave in nature are nature and animal friendly.
Magickal Moon
The moon has been a magickal presence for thousands and thousands of years. Ancestors of multiple cultures believed it had some spiritual significance. Science has helped us understand the moon and itâs effect on Earth, and astronauts who have visited the moon returned having a more spiritual connection, exploring religious or metaphysical beliefs more in depth.Â
Moon Phases and MagickÂ
There are numerous spells you can perform while under the different phases of the moon. One simple ritual can be done to perform all the spells listed here by taking a small white candle to the window and gazing at the moon. Say your wish aloud and with feeling, then leave the candle to burn down and extinguish itself. (Remember to never leave a lit candle near a window unattended completely, or place it near a curtain).Â
The Full Moon
The moon and its phases were once theorized to interfere with our internal chemistry by exerting gravitational forces on our bodies, or that the moonâs gravitational fields caused electrical particles to fall down to Earth further interfering with the function of the brain. Many scientific studies have attempted to disprove this notion, as well as invalidating the belief that crimes and mental instability (such as lunatic) increased during full moons. The full moon does not have any negative connotations in the magickal world, it is just considered a very powerful time of the month. Fridays that fall on full moons, for example, are perfect days for casing love spells. If you try to cast a love spell during any other moon phase, it doesnât mean it wonât work, but the results could take longer.Â
There are lots of other spells that can be cast during the benefit of a full moon also:
Protecting property and home
Adding vigor to your life
Anything to do with love
Increasing self-confidence
Advancing in career and workÂ
Enhancing psychic ability/clairvoyance
Strengthening friendships and family bonds
Performing general good-luck spellsÂ
The Waxing Moon
During the waxing moon, witches like to cast spells for improving situations or getting things going if they have been stuck for a while. This is a good phase of the moon to help kick-start your life. The following spells are fast-acting during a waxing moon:
Moving forward from depression
Getting out of a rut
Passing exams and tests
Finding lost objects
Healing a sick animal or finding a lost petÂ
Nurturing abundant, healthy gardens and the well-being of nature
Losing weight or stopping smokingÂ
The Waning Moon
The waning moon is perfect to cast spells for getting ride of negative energies that sometimes hang over your life. If you cast a spell during this moon phase, you will gain the power to take control again, strengthen weak areas, and become more assertive in actions. Cast spells during a waning moon for:
Developing inner strength and assertiveness
Banishing enemies
Stopping argumentsÂ
Soothing unruly childrenÂ
Calming anxietyÂ
Getting out of tricky situationsÂ
The New Moon
This lunar experience is appropriate for just about any spell. The new moon phase surrounds us with positive energy and can be a catalyst for immediate change. Transitions in life happen naturally around a new moon phase anyway, such as new jobs or births. To revolutionize your life during this time, cast spells for:
Career changes
Moving house swiftly and easily
Safe and enjoyable travel
Increasing your cash flow
Better health
Conceiving
Women and the Moon
In many early religions, the moon was worshipped as a goddess, and it has always been seen as a feminine symbol. The moon orbits at a distance of approximately 238,855 miles from Earth, and takes about 28 days to complete its orbit. In an interesting comparison, the amount of time between female menstrual cycles is the same amount of days.Â
Moons and Moods
Our demeanor changes depending on what the moon is doing. If you are interested in studying your own changes, keep a Book of Shadows about how you feel during each passing phase. Certain situations can naturally occur during certain phases, also. Animals may be affected by the full moon phase, and can become a bit more rambunctious. So if youâre a witch with felines, keep catnip at hand.Â
The Dark or Void of the Moon
During the dark moon, when the face of the moon is hidden, it is also known as the âdeadâ moon. It takes place precisely three days before a new moon, and is considered to be the most magickal and potent of all the phases. Many individuals who partake in black magick do so during this time. People using dark magick can influence any spells or rituals that you may be performing. Their collective power can cause cosmic havoc: our spells may become confused or simply not work at all. It is advised to be experienced wand wavers to attempt rituals at this time.Â

3. wear the blossom behind your ear, blow out the candle(s), and go about your day.
Witchy Self Care đ
As witches, we tend to do spellwork that can be potentially draining. Itâs important that we take care of ourselves after magic that is long and hard on our minds and bodies.

WAYS TO CLEANSE YOUR ROOM/SPACE WITHOUT BURNING ANYTHING
Some of us have breathing issues or parents/roommates who canât be around burning stuff, and some people (like me) just have parents/roommates who donât like the ashes and such left soâŚ
1. Clean! And I mean really clean. Take all those dirty dishes back to the kitchen, take that rotting banana out of your unused backpack (Iâm looking at myself there), do your laundry, and then really get in there! Dust, vacuum, do whatever you gotta do.
2. Open your windows during the rain! (Make sure you set up some plastic or such so you donât get everything wet) I just really love the rain and thereâs something so cleansing about it.
3. Get a essential oil diffuser!! I love these, and you can find oils at almost every grocery store just in case you donât have a local witchy shop. Most of mine are from Wal-mart! (Remember that some oils are not for consumption or skin contact if theyâre cheaper. Always read the backs before using them in those ways).
4. Meditate in the center of your space and really visualize all of the bad leaving and washing away. Use crystals if you like! Leave your room filled with bright, beautiful and uplifting energy :)
5. Perform! Read a piece of poetry or prose you love out loud. Give a little concert in your room for just your dog and stuffed animals! Dance your heart out. Just do something that helps you vent in a creative and constructive way! It leaves you and the space around you feeling lighter.
Feel free to add on!
friendly witchcraft reminder that
- intrusive thoughts wonât affect your magic or draw bad things into your life because thereâs no intent behind them
- your deities are smart enough to know that you donât mean your intrusive thoughts and to therefore not act on them or be offended by them
- if you have anxiety, then anxiety when you do magic isnât your intuition telling you that somethingâs wrong. Itâs just a symptom of your mental illness and it doesnât mean anything.
How does it make you feel when people say " I'm a little OCD " or stuff like that ?
Hello Bittersweet Mermaid. Many congrats on a fabulous name.
âA little bit OCDâ is a phrase that makes a lot of people really mad. They feel like it trivialises a serious condition, and that they get proper angry about it.
I do understand that. I remember I was in a meeting with a TV documentary producer and Iâd spent a while explaining what Iâd been through â incessant distressing sexual thoughts that drove me to want to commit suicide. He said he knew exactly what I meant and that heâd been something similar himself â he then went on to describe something NOT SIMILAR AT ALL. Not even close. In fact it was really quite banal in comparison. Every time someone misinterprets me like that, Iâm reminded how serious what I went through was, and it makes me feel self conscious.
But rather than getting angry about the language people use, I try to listen to tone of voice. It was obvious this guy wasnât being malicious. He was actually trying to be kind and reach out. For me itâs important not to chastise people for using phrases like âa little bit OCDâ, if their hearts are in the right place.
Types of cognitive errors specific to intrusive thoughts and OC(P)D
Overimportance of Thoughts and the Need to Control Them
This cognitive error occurs when we conclude that simply because we have a particular thought, it must be meaningful. Similarly, we may conclude that simply because we are thinking about something, this means that it will actually happen. If we have this mistaken belief about the importance of thoughts, we may start to believe that we have to exercise complete control over all our thoughts (which (âŚ) is doomed to fail).
Overestimating Danger
People with OCD often overestimate both the likelihood and the dangerousness of things that may happen. They often view a situation as threatening until they are guaranteed that it is safe. Most people without OCD, on the other hand, assume that a situation is safe unless it is proven to be dangerous.
Intolerance of Uncertainty
Perhaps because people with OCD tend to overestimate the likelihood of danger, they often have trouble making decisions in uncertain or ambiguous situations, then subsequently question whether their decision was correct. Several researchers have found a connection between perfectionism, concern over mistakes, doubts about actions, and OCD symptoms.
Perfectionism
Several studies of OCD have found a connection between inability to tolerate uncertainty and perfectionism. For instance, OCD sufferers believe that their actions must be perfect if they are to avoid criticism from others.
Excessive Responsibility
If you believe that you have the primary power and responsibility to make sure bad things donât happen, then you probably commit this cognitive error. Since many, if not most, outcomes in life are beyond our control, excessive responsibility will often lead to guilt when bad things happen to us or our loved ones (even when in reality we had no control to avert these things).
From Lee Baer, âThe Imp of the Mindâ
