@scribblefell-blog
well... not well. but I’ll get there.
starting a new challenge today.
this came out wonkier than I expected it to... it seems I just suck can’t hold the excitement while drawing celtic knots :p
watched ponyo recently for the first time (saturday, to be precise). it’s an awesome animation (unsurprisingly - it’s ghibli after all), and its cute style really makes you want to draw the characters down. I’ll try to color it before aug 17th, when I start my next challenge (a 15 Days, this time).
about the actual drawing, I started paying attention to my inking and how shaky it tends to be. also, I realized how varying line pressure kind of brings more life to it. and it looks cooler too.
also, just discovered drawabox.com in a youtube comment, and I found it amazing! I’ll start to go through all the tutorials there, so I *think* I won’t be making/posting drawings until I start the challenge. then, I’ll see what’s gonna happen.
the last day of the 5-Day Drawing Challenge: Diversify Your Drawing (available here). I couldn’t craft the jumping jack as the challenge demanded due to lack of money materials, but this is what I’d do.
I can clearly hear him saying: “Screw all this gold... where is my goddamn hat!?”
just taking a walk in the park with her new trendy purse.
my mythical creature, which is a mix of an eagle, a bat and a shark.
this one was fun, I’ll probably do it again soon.
the original task today was to draw on rocks, but there are no rocks where I live. nor do I have the material to do so. so I looked for another challenge and borrowed the task from there: a band of alligators.
introducing: The Allies Jazz Trio.
putting a halt to alphabet challenge. I think the fact that those drawings take too much of time to make, and the duty of having to submit 26 entries (which to me is a lot) ended up being a negative point for my appreciation for drawing at all. like, getting scared of making mistakes, and stuff like that. instead, I decided to begin a smaller, simpler challenge to take on, which I think will help me put more confidence in my art skills.
for my first day, there’s this skinny, giant headed, long armed handsome basketball player. took me almost an hour, so I’ll try to be faster and simpler in future drawings.
here it is in the last minutes, a shitty dirty ‘Edna’ sketch just to hit the day mark. I won’t make it count as my ‘e’ entry, because I think I can find a cooler character to draw... or not.
done! on to the next one :)
went through a small surgery on my drawing hand’s finger, so I won’t be able to finish that deadpool drawing, at least today... instead, here’s a doodle I did a couple days ago.
‘a doodle I did’. sounds funny.
working on something for my ‘d’ entry. might not be able to finish it today, so I’m putting this in advance for my daily posts in case I don’t.
by the way, all these drawings I’m doing for my alphabet challenge are copied. even so, I’m actually learning a lot by doing them.
I do reckon the sin I committed by drawing Chun-Li without her legs showing up. I deeply apologize.
it was really fun drawing those ribbons being blown by the wind.
my entry for letter ‘b’ of the alphabet challenge I’m doing. didn’t ink this one, but maybe I should have... some day, who knows.
I don’t think she said that in the actual scene, but it suits her well :)
not a big fan of posting old drawings, but I didn’t have time to draw today and I want to keep the goal of at least 1 post per day (should have made it 1 drawing per day... silly me).
Tutorial here.
starting an alphabet challenge, where I (try to) draw characters following the letters of the alphabet. this is my third entry (’c’ letter)... but I guess I’ll make it as an ‘a’ and start over, since the previous ones didn’t go as well.
I would destroy all my enemies by outliving them! okay, that doesn’t make much sense but hey, I got inspired :)
I just created a blog to get me started in drawing: scribblefell
that’s what my superpower would be. even then, I’d still be afraid of shading ):
my submission to this week’s Weekly Art Challenges.
