Triangles.
How many times Do I have To tell U Triangles are The best .
Folded neatly in a drawer, Creases down the sides, Itchy texture, hairless legs, I’ll wear them when I die. The scent of wood upon opening the coffin Of a dresser that’s been shut for years, The mold has got me wheezing, My eyes are dropping tears Brought on by my privilege, accustomed to being Spoiled with the best of clothes, Used to being comfortable, oblivious, and stable. Now I’ve realized just how silly I must have sounded then, And it makes me wonder if I sound Just as silly now. I’m sure I do, but I don’t hear it, And everyone else does. It’s clear as day, for one cliche, And blaring like the train That’s always here at three o’clock: Predictable, dependable, So everyone knows when to cover their ears.
Goodbye, Blue Bird
The time has come to let you go, Sail among the stars, And die from lack of oxygen.
Ah, life...
To go back to bed, Or to go get breakfast? Life is hard.
So goes life.
I'd like to write poetry, But the cat is sitting on me... C'est la vie.
This is totally my work, guys... yep! ;)
Once upon a tired evening, while I stumbled, weak and weary, Over to my bed, it seemed like just another daunting chore, While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, It was the Muses gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door. Telling me to write, but as it is, my vigor's left the door, And plagiarizing? Nevermore!
Autumn
The leaves are going on break, Like students after finals- Departing in groups, But they'll be back, A little stronger, As they've been cracking, Under pressure, So leave them to their own device, Before we rake them into piles.
A Random Musing
I saw the Wisdom of the ages Locked up in the zoo, And I couldn't help but wonder. Who'd evolved from Whom?
Moonbeams
Does the moon get bored in its orbit, Falling on and on? It must, I think- Vicariously living, Dropping its beams on the best of us, The most stable of us, Just to watch us run. Laughing at the things we do, When we think we're clever, beginning anew, But we're just sand in water Being stirred all around, And in time we'll settle Back to the ground, Until the beams keep falling and we keep running, Just because our safety's boring, Or are we scared of who the light Will paint us to be if it hits us right, Should it catch up? And with it come the thoughts and feelings We'd tried so hard to hide, An appetite unsatisfied, For glory and for reckless pride, And so begins the daily hunt For lions in the field, In times we want to get away, Really need to get away.
Out the Door
He lie awake at the break of dawn, Brain sill sleeping in his head, He rolls it over to wake it up, But slips inside again,
Where magic is there to heal, If you’re willing to make a deal, To trade a day of consciousness, For that which isn’t real,
But you’re pulled away by your alarm, Abducted from your home, Desperate just to get back there, But you haven’t got a prayer, There’s work to do out there! So you step into the shower built to wash away the thought, Of what it’s like to sleep when there’s so much to ignore, Out the door. He remembers how his dreams Used to have an end, But now it’s just a blink, And they’re gone. Where does it all go? Why do memories blend Into one consistent soup, Slowly draining from your head, That gets all over? So you step into the shower built to wash away the thought, Of what it’s like to sleep when there’s so much to ignore, Out the door. But there are things to see, And thoughts to meet, And freedom from anxiety, Before it disappears, To apocalyptic singing And guitars. But you step into the fire built to burn away the thought, Of what it’s like to sleep when there’s so much to ignore, Out the door.
I've Been Waiting
This one just celebrated its third birthday! :D
Verse 1: I've been waiting for this moment, I know that you have too, Please let me know If you feel the way I do. Oh, so much is ahead, But don't forget to bring The things that make yourself you. Verse 2: I feel so unprepared, Like a soldier before a fight Please help me through. I thought I was ready, but I was wrong And we were wrong! Oh help me, God! Don't let me learn The ways of this world, Before it's too late! Before it's too late! Verse 3: We've known each other for years, So let's not let this change come between us, And let us raise a candle To change and growth and all we're taught to like, It just seems right But it's just wrong! But it's just wrong! But we're just wrong! Oh, we're just wrong!
Painting that Picture in Your Mind
Verse 1: Wrapped up so tight, Adorned in light, Careful to get the angles right, Working from memory, Taking artistic liberties, Composing a piece, A piece of the story, Derived from a frozen jealousy.
Chorus I see you painting that picture in your mind, Painting that picture in your mind, Painting that picture in your mind,
Verse 2: That would explain the wind we fought, It tore through our brains and found our hearts, And took note of all the selfish things inside,
Chorus So you're painting that picture in your mind, Painting that picture in your mind, Painting that picture in your mind,
Bridge But you can't just assume that I've done the worst, As if I don't know what's best for her.
Chorus Now you're panting that picture n your mind, Panting that picture in your mind, Panting that picture in your mind, Panting that picture in your mind.
Set the Sails
(Hello world!)
Verse 1: When the steam rises up on the horizon, Like fingers as they learn to throw, Getting set on the seams of our existence. Should it be rising even higher Or fading away, Did your light shine bright enough, or scare it off?
Chorus: Set the sails, Tell the men, They may make it back someday.
Verse 2: The Mountains shrinking in the distance, Like jaws of the sky, A warning that should we return Without any treasure, No wisdom, no name, That we'll be trapped within for all our days.
Chorus: Set the sails, Tell the men, They may make it back someday. Set the sails, Tell the men, That they may make it back, but never the same.
