The Domestic Garden Witch: Pocket-Sized Green Thumb
So maybe you’re a college witch with limited space and money, limited to the one window in your dorm. Or, maybe you’re a witch without extensive backyard space who wants to start up a magical garden. Perhaps you’re a kitchen witch who wants the freshest herbs right at her fingertips.
For many witches, having a garden seems to be a bit of a no-brainer. After all, plants and magic go hand-in-hand. Plus, when thinking of a witch, it’s hard not to think of a cottage in the woods with a little vegetable garden out front. Unfortunately for the majority of us, our cottage in the woods is a tiny flat, and our garden out front is a windowsill with limited space.
This is when it comes time to embrace your craftiness and bring your garden indoors! Not only does it place your garden in a convenient location, it also allows you to freshen the air, recycle what would otherwise harm the earth, and embrace your witchy green thumb!
An Excuse to Have More Wine!
Okay, so this is a cute and somewhat family oriented garden. It breaks away from the more meditation-oriented garden from last week, and strays away from the initial intensity of terrariums. But it sticks to the simplicity and ease of care that you would have with any succulents!
With midterms and various other tests plaguing our college witches, there’s sure to be plenty of wine being consumed in order to ease that tension. (Or, if you’re like me, your excuse for having a lot of wine is the fact that you “cook” with it.) Regardless, corks are often seen as nothing more than a tedious obstacle blocking your way to the delicious and happy-inducing fermented grape juice inside the bottle. Well, to most folks, anyway… I’ll leave the significance of corks in wine bottling to one of my kitchen witchery posts. So when all is said and done, many corks end up just being thrown away by the end of the night.
Succulents come in a range of shapes, colors, and sizes, from the massive saguaro to the tiny rock plants. But what makes them so easy to care for is the fact that often they can easily root from clippings and they require very little water in order to survive.
Corks, meanwhile, are great at maintaining low levels of moisture for extended periods of time, providing an ideal potting source for succulents. As such, it only makes sense to bring a bit of green into the home by using the corks as a pot!
You Know the Drill…
All you need (aside from the wine) is a cork, a drill with two bits (a quarter inch bit and a smaller bit for making a leading hole), potting soil, a little bit of aquarium gravel, and some clippings from small succulents.
Using the smaller bit, drill a leading hole into the cork, being careful to avoid drilling all the way through it. Then, use the larger bit to widen the hole so as to turn your cork into a miniature pot. Add a little bit of potting soil, followed by your clipping. Add a little more soil and gently tamp it down to secure the clipping into place, and decorate with a little bit of aquarium gravel. It’s as simple as that!
A common use for these plants is to glue a magnet to the back, allowing the succulents to serve as living refrigerator magnets. For me, I see these adorable little succulents being great gifts or even cute decorations for the small dorm room.
As I’ve mentioned, not much care is needed beyond watering every ten days or so. You can use a dropper to administer the water, or carefully use a small spoon to apply water.
How Can I Witch This?
Succulents vary greatly in their magickal uses. Jade plants are exceptional for inviting wealth into the home, whereas agave is great for attracting sweet and positive energies. Coordinate your plants with what your intent is. The cork itself can be decorated with runes, sigils, symbols, et cetera, or can even be studded with crystals!
If you’re going for the magnet idea, you can take a green spin on the concept of crystal grids, and instead create a succulent grid right there on your refrigerator, using the intent from the plants to attract the energies you want much in the same way as you would arrange crystals!
As mentioned before, these little plants make for great gifts, and therefore can be used as spells for others, as well. Aloe for healing, or jade for prosperity, et cetera.
If you’re trying to practice discreetly, these plants are a great way to do so!
And lastly, you can place crystals in the bottom of the hole you’ve drilled to correspond to the intent of the plant or to encourage health for the plant. This is a great way to practice a little bit of garden witchery in a very small setting!
Play around and get creative with the different ways that you can work with these little succulents to brighten your dorm or window!
May your harvests always be bountiful!
Blessed Be! )O(
An Acceptance of Love Spell
A Way to Accept Love From Those in Your Life
Ingredients:
1 white candle (healing, unity, purity)
1 red candle (love, relationships)
Matches/lighter
Rose quartz in any form
A piece of chocolate or your favorite Valentines’ candy
A decorated or blank piece of paper
A pen or pencil
All ingredients can be substituted out as you see fit
Directions:
Light your candles and create a warm and loving atmosphere around you.
Gently take your rose quartz in your hands and charge it with the warmth from your hands, thinking of the reason why you are doing this spell.
Set your rose quartz aside next to your candles so that you are able to glance over at it throughout the rest of the spell.
Grab your chocolate or candy and as you eat it, begin thinking of people who love and support you. It can be your mom, uncle, friends, a spouse, etc.
Begin writing those names down along with some of their contact information. Try to leave off people that love you but cause you pain or upset you. You’ll feel better knowing that the people on your list on ones you can go to whenever you’re in need or just want someone to talk to and not receive a negative/unwanted response.
Consider reaching out to at least one of the listed people while you wait for the candles burn down or within the first few days after doing this spell.
Keep your charged rose quartz nearby whenever you feel alone and continue contacting your loved ones/supports.
My Notes on what I did: I used a piece of tumbled rose quartz that I had from rock collection as I kid. I choose this piece because my collection of rocks was started with my grandma who is one of my listed loved ones. I like to look back on that time as one of the happier times I’ve had as a kid and I believe that the positive energy from that experience remains embedded in the stone.
I also decided to eat some chocolate covered Oreos from my favorite local chocolatier, Sarris Candies. I have always loved receiving their chocolate as presents even as a kid. I love the positive energy that seems to emanate from their store whenever I get to visit and I always feel a trace of that joy and love whenever I purchase and/or see their chocolate elsewhe re.
I also played a 1 hour jazz noir playlist that I found on youtube so that I had background noise. I personally can’t sit in silence for too long because it makes me more anxious then I already am. If you’re comfortable sitting in silence, go ahead and do so and know that I applaud your ability.
As part of my personal goals, I know that I need to open myself and my heart more to my loved ones and accept the love and support that they already give. I know that this will take time and effort on my part so that I am able to leave behind my previous self-destructive behaviors. I hope this spell will allow my wounded self heal and be more open with my family for my sake and theirs. Included below is the list of my loved ones with their contact information blocked out for safety reasons. I painted the paper my favorite shade of blue and then decorated it with hearts and stuff since Valentine’s Day is coming up and the purpose of the spell has to do with love. This step is completely option but I wanted to put mine by bed so I have a reminder whenever I feel sad.
I hope that you found something that you could also use to help you heal from whatever occurred in your life and I wish you all the love in the world. Feel free to adjust this to your magickal and personal needs. Do not be afraid to reach out if you feel you are alone or have any questions. ❤️
IN NO WAY, SHAPE OR FORM IS MAGICK OR WITCHCRAFT A REPLACEMENT FOR MEDICAL TREATMENT, MEDICATION(S), OR THERAPY. MAKE SURE THAT YOUR SUPPORT SYSTEM OR THERAPIST KNOWS THAT YOU ARE GOING TO DO THIS IN CASE SOMETHING GOES WRONG.
Hi,I find your blog really helpful and I know that you prefer not to give spells because it's better to create your own, but I wanted to ask if you know any methods or spells to cleanse/remove negative energy from a place like a room or a house.
No It’s fine. And I’m glad my blog is helpful to you :3 I thought I had already written a post about clearing negative energies and I was going to send it to you, but I realized it’s not there!
Anyway, There are actually a lot of things you can do. You can burn incense (usually sage or frankincense will do the trick), burn a white candle in the center of the room (or carry it around the house, and then leave in the center of the house. You can do that with the incense too). Quartz, citrine, and amethyst are also good cleansing stones. If you have a bunch of small ones, put them in a bowl and set them in the room you want to cleanse. Or take a huge one (They can be expensive though) and just put that wherever you need it, It also adds some beauty to the room.
An herb bundle works too. Usually sage. Just light it, blow out the fire, and it will start smoking. Carry this around the house or room and make sure the smoke gets EVERYWHERE; in closets, under beds, in the corners, etc. Once you’re done, you can leave it in a fireproof bowl in the center of the house to burn out, or rub the smoking end in a pile of sand or on a fireproof plate and use it again later. Salt is also very cleansing. You can sprinkle it all over the house, don’t forget those corners! Than I usually wait an hour for the salt to soak up all the negativity, then vacuum it up, or sweep it away. Make sure you get rid of the salt after the hour though (or however long you feel you need it) because if not, you just have a bunch of salt crystals all over your house holding negative energy and that’s not good. I think depending on the type of salt though, it completely eats up the negativity. People say sea salt works best for this, but I’ve never tried it and don’t understand the difference. I just use table salt and vacuum it up.
You can also make a cleansing satchet with cleansing colors such as green, blue, orange, or white. And add cleansing crystals and herbs such as citrine, quartz, amethyst, lavender, salt, bay leaves, etc. The hang it in the room you want to cleanse. Above the door or window would be best. I also like to spray moon water around the area after I’ve cleansed it jus as an extra precaution. I have posts about satchets (it’s in a post titled headache spells) and moon water (titled moon water).
Those are my favorite methods of cleansing. Now that I know I don’t have a post, I will make a post sometime about other methods lol. Good luck and sorry for the long wait! <3

Tiny, Rambly Rant
This can’t be said enough:
Eliminate mundane causes before turning to the supernatural.
And I can understand how that would seem counter-intuitive, but let me explain you a thing …
When one takes up the craft they often feel like a whole brand new world opens up to them. Everything changes, and nothing will ever be the same, and we sometimes take this new attitude and apply it to everything. Everything becomes magical and everything has an underlying magical aura.
This is something a decent craft teacher will stop with a newspaper to the nose. *smack*
When we flip the perception, and look at everything with mundane suspicion, we are actually less likely to miss the woo. By eliminating all of the mundane causes for a thing, you also eliminate that pesky doubt you keep hearing me grumble about. You are more sure about what you’re dealing with, and can act accordingly.
For example:
I wear hematite to help with my social anxiety. They’re really energy sensitive. It is said that when they’re overwhelmed they shatter.
They are also pretty fragile and if you smack it against everything, of course, it’ll shatter.
So, when a ring breaks off my hand and I know that I’ve just been literally running into shit for the last couple of weeks. I know that it’s because gravity plays favorites, and I’ve accidentally put too much force on it.
But when a necklace that has just been sitting on my bedside table, protecting the homestead goes kaboom without being knocked around, dropped or otherwise provoked, then I know something is up.
Saturating your world with a perceived magical-ness, weakens your senses. It desensitizes you to what is out there. I recommend picking up a deliberate, goal oriented practice as opposed to a wild, come-what-may, practice. Trust me, if you’re open, the fuckery will come to you, you don’t have to go looking for it.
No, really though. Go see a doctor if you feel physically weird. Go see a mental health professional if your brain feels off. Eliminate the non-magical causes, first, and then start to investigate the supernatural.
I hope that ramble makes sense.

Everything right here? Especially applicable to mediumship.
I’ve seen flashes of light, but I’ve also seen reflections of light from something shiny.
You might be clairaudient…but check that the radio isn’t on in the other room.
This world is magical and mundane - your discernment is important.
Also! When you’re doing release/personal growth/shadow work, and you’re like, “wow, some crazy shit is coming up, what’s happening??? Is there something cosmic going on right now?”…it could just be your period coming on like a m*****fucker.
Look at your personal energy before looking at global/cosmic energy when shit starts getting weird. Sometimes there’s a really meaningful bigger picture that impacts multiple people, and sometimes your body is throwing a private party just for you.
This is a reminder for anyone (like me) who’s really into astrology and cosmic energy and stuff like that.
Oof. Yeah, buddy. -_-

For those of us who have atypical things about our existence, it’s good to recognize what is the body, and what is the outside and ether.
This is also a good way of keeping up with what’s an omen and what’s your body’s own personal fuck you. This is the reason I ask for a particular number of signs as opposed to taking the first thing that happens.

Something to Consider before you Curse: Reversals
Before I get into this: I don’t have any issues with cursing, but I am seeing people jump into them quickly, and even casting them against each other on here so I’m going to explain some shit that people need to know if this is what they want to do.
Before the Three-fold law was brought to the forefront because of Wicca, there were a few commonplace ‘rules’ many, many witches followed, one of which was: To never use your power on a another witch.
This was not because of morals.
This was because there are ways of sending things back to the caster. A witch attacking another witch never ended well for either party (or their loved ones, really, because nothing ever just effects one person), it was essentially declaring a never ending war, because yeah you may have thrown up some protections, but all that has to be done is a reversal spell more potent than whatever protection you gave yourself. Rinse and repeat until one party gives up.
That being said, here’s two reversal spells I have in my book of mirrors. I have adapted them and combined other published spells to make these, so if you happen to have the same books as me some parts may be familiar. I have tested these.
Hex & Curse Reversal Candle
Get a new candle, you’ll want it to be large. The longer the candle burns the more powerful the spell.
Turn it upside down. Carve off the bottom until the wick is exposed and can be lit.
If necessary, slice the top so it can stand flat on it’s top, upside down.
Dress the candle in any oils or herbs you find appropriate to help you with this. Meditating on it can help if need be. Different curses/hexes are better stopped by different things, so if something feels right, use it. Just make sure it’s safe.
Light the wick, while chanting “Let this evil done against me reverse itself, as I have reversed you.”
Meditate and focus your intent while the candle burns. Do it until you feel it is enough. Let the candle burn out. If you stop meditating on it and feel like you should a few hours later while the candle is still burning, do it. When the candle burns out, the reversal is complete.
Hex & Curse Reversal Spell
Gather 6 blackthorns, or pine needles.
Create a wax (or clay, if burying) image. It does not have to be specific, it can be a generic human figure. If this is a curse or hex, this spell will be able to trace where it came from.
Stick a thorn/needle through each hand, while saying “The evil you have crafted returns to you.”
Stick a needle/thorn through each foot, while saying “The evil you visit upon me returns to you”
Stick a needle/thorn through the mouth, while saying “The evil you spoke returns to you”
Stick a thorn through the forehead “The evil that you think and create returns to you.”
Burn, or bury the image
What to Do if Witchcraft Drains You
Witchcraft requires summoning and manipulating energy. It takes a lot of work. As a result, sometimes spellwork can end up tiring people mentally, emotionally, or physically. If you find yourself drained after a spell, you can do many things:
Eat something sugary, carbs, or fruit. This runs along the same vein as a nurse advising you to eat sugar after drawing blood: The sugar will reenergize you.
Drink tea or water. Stay hydrated! even when not casting spells. In general, oolongs, blacks, and fruity teas can help energize you, whereas green teas and herbals (especially lavender, chamomile, mints and rose) can relax you.
Light your favorite incense or candle. Frankincense, sage, cedar, dragon’s blood, patchouli, cinnamon, pine, and sandalwood are good cleansing and promoting positive energy. Or, light your favorite scent–it’ll automatically calm and re-energize you.
Carry a stone with you. Amethyst, citrine, obsidian, rose quartz, lapis lazuli, jade, and hematite are good considerations for re-energizing and healing spiritual energy.
…or, carry another special item with you! If you have a special pendant, prayer beads, necklace or other item that means a lot to you and comforts you, it can help restore your energy just by being in your presence.
Take a bath or shower.
Take a walk out in nature. Even though you may not feel like working out, exercising can actually energize you rather than deplete you. You can absorb nature’s energies to replenish yours, too.
Take a nap, or get a good night’s sleep. If you want an extra boost, place a healing stone under your pillow to recharge you while you sleep.
Watch a funny movie or video, or read a good book. It’ll relax you, take your mind off your drained feeling, and correct any “off” feelings you may have.
Work on something else that requires minimal energy. This could be crafting, knitting, watering your plants, or even doing your homework. Getting back into the groove of things will help reset your energy and stabilize you for daily life.
Friends! If calling a friend or socializing will relax you, go for it! It’ll make you happier, too.
I hope you may rest well, take care of yourself and have a blessed path! (◕‿◕✿) Sincerely, a witch who’s exhausted after performing spells for four hours.
Spells fail because you have a weak aura & mind.
I mean they CAN, but there can also be numerous other factors at play that cause a spell to bust. I try not to interpret it as a personal flaw, for confidence’s sake ✨
-sets coffee mug down with a hard THUNK and stands up to address the anon-
Okay, listen here, Skippy.
Spells do not fail because someone is “weak” or unintelligent, and it has fuck-all to do with your “aura.” And it’s CERTAINLY not a personal flaw, as Will-o said.
Since the most that magic can do is increase the probability of the desired outcome, there are generally four reasons why spells fail:
Unclear Intent - If the target or purpose of a spell is not clearly defined, the magic doesn’t know where to go or what to do. So it does nothing.
Unfavorable Circumstances - If the probability of the desired outcome is remote or infinitesimal to begin with, nudging it a few percentage points in your favor might not be enough to change anything.
Outside Interference - If someone else is working against you or actively blocking the type of magic you’re trying to work, that can decrease or even nullify the chances of success (depending on situational factors and mutual levels of effort).
Unseen Variables - As with all things in life, there are situations where unexpected and unforeseen events or actions foil our best-laid plans. There is no real way to change this, although closing as many loopholes as possible when casting spells can mitigate the problem.
There is also something to be said for practice and experience, but that doesn’t not that beginner witches won’t see success or that more advanced witches’ spells always work.
Whatever the reason for failure, it is NOT a personal shortcoming, and there is NO reason to be that rude. Show me a witch whose spells work 100% of the time no matter what, and I’ll show you a filthy liar.
